(15-1) Lake Travis 7 - (16-0) Katy 34

That was a loooog time ago. The above scores are irrelevant in today's modern era of HSFB.

Transfers effect every state in America. Plus, TX utilizes open enrollment, which is the great equalizer in this respect.

My man that’s not what you stated just a few days ago when you said Texas should maintain residency rules and not become like Fla. open enrollment is not a mandate here like in some states.

The recent three blowout losses to IMG and MD.

That’s only because the concentrated talent  MD and SJB have in CA.  Lol

If the UIL allowed this level of top end talent to concentrate to a few schools what do you think the top teams would look like?

which state do you think produces not only more FBS recruits but top 350 in the country? You already showed a chart on this a month or so ago. That’s very relevant to this discussion

Also, I wouldn’t call Texas regressing in football when we are but of a few states where overall football participation is increasing.  This is a few years old but is an excerpt from a Forbes article in ‘19.

  • “In the eight states, plus the District of Columbia, where participation was the same or increased, four of them (DC, Nevada, Texas, Vermont) had more schools playing as well. (The other states: Alabama, Colorado, Hawaii and Oregon.)
  • Texas is the No. 1 state for participation (of course), but its participation-per-school rate is dropping quickly. In 2016-17 it was 153.3; in 2017-18, 135.3; and in 2018-19, 125.6. Meaning, its growth is coming from more schools offering football, not more boys showing up to play at every school.”

DLS would’ve smoked them later in the year that season. Not a Cali fan, but that type of offense takes a few games to get clicking. I like it better when DLS schedules those type of games later in the season. I wish all teams would, for that matter, but I know the logistics don’t allow it once district play begins. I really believe DV would’ve done much better against MD later in the year. Not beat them, but not lose by 42 points.

Texas and Georgia have the best traditional football.   Cali and Florida usually have the top teams with recent years giving Cali the edge on top IMO.

TX and GA have faired dismally vs elite OOS competition of late. Meanwhile, CA and FL have many huge wins vs top OOS competition. Talent > Tradition

What are some of the recent, top FL wins?  Genuinely curious.

Don’t think it’s fair to Texas. The teams they have stepped up to play would wreck everyone. Those teams should be playing each other although I realize the California elite can’t play IMG

STA beat SJB. Cen10 and MD were competitive and beat IMG, respectively. Shouldn't the best in big, bad TX at least be competitive?

DV didn’t do the same thing?

You have Duncanville as a reference, that’s it for any game win or loss. And how many titles have they won the past 20 years?

Even this year, Desoto and Allen aren’t the best Texas teams.  You need to better understand who has been playing and repping in these games

Typo. STA beat SJB.

STA is one of the best teams in Fla. you don’t have the best in Texas playing these games.  funny you don’t reference Miami central and their losses to SFA and SJB.  (Very similar to DV imo)

you have a very small sampling of Texas better teams playing…it’s Duncanville.  That’s it.

Let's not forget that Desoto lost to IMG, Westlake lost to Liberty NV and Cedar Hill lost to BG back in the day. And all of those loses were at home.

DV is not the only TX team to ever play a quality, OOS opponent. Your two best wins to date are over DLS and SJC. Very respectable.

Desoto was a 6-6 team that year. They lost to IMG 47-29,  the week before the IMG game they lost to Martin 46-26. But don’t let facts stump you.

IMG has a ton (too many to list)

C-M over Buford

MC over DBP

Cocoa over BC

STA over SFA

Columbus over Benedictine

STA over St Louis

STA over DLS

AHP over SJR

DFB over Buford

STA over DeMatha

STA over SJB

MC over BG

All true.  Other than STA over SFA, it just seems like FL has either fallen off the past couple years or you have fewer FL teams stepping up against the bigs.
