It’s a fact a child chose MD as an alternative 150 miles away. Distance and time is not a hurdle, like you tried to make, when kids want to transfer.

It's a big difference when you have choices that are much closer to you.  What choice did this kid have that was closer to him?

They don't,  because what they want is much closer.

Just like kids have been going to Duncanville from all over the south corridor these past few years. Why go to Desoto/ Cedar Hill when Duncanville is offering you the same thing. The rise of Duncanville,  can be traced to the demise of Cedar hill and Desoto

Quite the contrary. The success of Cedar Hill and DeSoto temporarily quelled because of Samples coming to Duncanville. There wasn’t necessarily a demise of those programs though. They’re still around.

Exactly,  why?

Because he didn’t want online learning in the fall, and wanted a school with strong academic and athletics, but he didn’t have to move. It was all a choice, not a mandate to find another school

could he have stayed at Bakersfield? Of course

They're not playing at the same level as years past.  As soon as Duncanville became Duncaville,  those two teams have been mediocre the majority of the years

He has no clue. Not only that, acting as if DV was the only school of choice doesn’t address the rise of SOC which is just as close to DV as the other schools

Of course he could've, but they didn't offer him what him and his momma felt was best for him.  Cali didn't have anything but online classes in public schools till August of 2021

The rise of SOC. Please. They were down 42-7 to Duncanville. That has more to do with 5A

Of course not…athletics being one of them…his own words!

True. And now you have a rising South Oak Cliff team from the south Dallas area too.

DeSoto is anticipated to have a strong squad in 2023. Don’t know what happened to Red Oak last year but it seemed like they were headed in the right trajectory the year before that with stellar playoff success. And if South Grand Prairie ever gets a high caliber coach, hold on to your seatbelts.
Cedar Hill will be fine. They’re not going anywhere. Even with mediocre years, Cedar Hill and DeSoto would finish top 5 in Georgia.

SOC is the only SC in that area and the only disd school to win one since ‘58…so yes, rise.  they have more talent than any of those schools right now.

Who cares,  that means nothing.  When they're actually a top 10 team in Texas get back to me

I said that from the get go. Smh

That's not your point.  You used them as an example of a kid doing whatever it takes to go to a certain school even if it's bypassing other schools that offer him the same thing.  That's not the case with the Bakersfield kid. He couldn't go to a school in Bakersfield offering him what he wanted.  Garces is a small private school in Bakersfield.

it’s a reflection of what they achieved in one season compared to previous ones in the same 5A class…the return of the Mecca

I don't care what they achieved,  don't use them as some sort of reason for the other teams not being that good.  The teams they're above would crush them that play in 6A

Calpreps, the Cali football bible, has them in 8th.

South Oak Cliff has all the momentum in the world right now. I think they’ll do well.

Nobody is stupid enough to believe that.  Calpreps doesn't do a good job differentiating between classes in Texas due to the fact that there's very little connectivity.
