High school football has really stepped up their games nationally the last few years. When I played in the late 80s/early 90s(I know, I’m old) playing a border state team was a treat. I remember my high school (Oak Ridge,TN) played a top ranked KY team (Paducah Tilghman) and lost on a failed two point attempt at the end of the game 21-20. Both teams were powerhouses in their respective states back then. We don’t see eye-to-eye on how we rank teams, but I’ll give you props on setting up great interstate games.

That’s the way polls are going to be from now since so many teams are playing more OOS games now. You want your champion to be the best team, not necessarily the teams with undefeated records. That’s where the no nonsense part of the equation comes into play. SJB, MD, and BG are in a separate tier by themselves.
