@GardenStateBaller I give you credit too for being willing to be on an island by yourself thinking IMG is #1.
This is great healthy debate and the reason for forums like this. We all have our own opinions that we will defend.
They are comparable. But as mentioned, BG’s SOS is scewed downward because they are forced to play some truly terrible Nevada teams. If you compare only the top 4-5 teams that BG and IMG played, BG had the better schedule.
The most satisfying OOS game for me has been against Duncanville…… A public school.
MD should schedule games against BG and STA simply because they are good. It’s irrelevant they are private. We should aspire to play the best teams in the country period, not the best private school teams in the country.
It doesn’t matter whether a team is public or private. All I care about is how good they are. Is Cen10 bad because they are public? Are Texas’ best bad because they are public? I don’t take into consideration public versus private when assessing a team’s quality. Granted, the majority of top teams are private. But they are not top teams because they are private.
BG played good teams before they got into their league schedule. Who cares if those teams were public. I don’t hold that against them. Would it have better if Gorman played a private that was ranked lower than Cen10 or Corner Canyon? You make it sound like it would be.
If I was biased I would say MD deserves to be the MNC. They don’t because they shit the bed on Oct 13th. BG deserves it. I’m being as objective as possible.
Bingo!
BG’s SOS is heavily weighed down by in state crappy teams. Let’s just go with Joe’s premise and accept that SJP is a powerhouse. BG still played better teams than IMG, even if we accept that SJP is better than any team BG played.
I wouldn’t say that. According to your own subjective poll that may be the case based on the ranking of SJP. They had basically the same overall SOS. But Gorman had 2 better OOS wins compared to IMG. Gorman has no control over the fact that Nevada teams overall suck.
It is transparent and you say SOS and OOS marque wins are most important. So by your own criteria, MD and Gorman are ahead of IMG who has an absolutely embarrassing schedule for a team of their caliber.
So the refs gifted MD the game? Come on!
Why do you keep placing blame on teams for decision of the CIF to not allow teams to play IMG? CIF made that rule probably because MD scheduled the game. It was enacted almost immediately after it was scheduled, and actually before being played. Fortunately they were still able to play.
I’m glad we got the chance to play IMG but I would prefer MD to play real high schools. Next year hopefully we play Gorman and STA. There is not much appetite among team supporters to play academies. Maybe you can schedule us to play St Joseph’s Prep.
Too small to read. I think this is MDs records. Here is a source.

I don’t give credibility to a poll that has St Joesph #6. I was going by computer polls that have Both Cen10 and Corner Canyon higher than IMGs best opponent which was Ben Davis.
I also use my eyes to judge teams. IMG has a team filled with future college players, yet they play these simple schemes and have the precision of a Pop Warner team.
It’s the principle. An undefeated team is not automatically better than a team with a loss, or several losses. If your criteria for IMG as #1 is because they are undefeated that is ridiculous IMO.
Those were good Servite teams that had that run of championships. The 2021 Servite team was better IMO.
I did some research and something that compares is 2018 Mater Dei. There may be other teams. In their last 3 games in 2018 they …….
