    They are 35 points behind tier 1 teams like MD. They would not get blown out by other ranked teams.

    100% That would be a great match up. Serra was a very good team this season and shouldn't be judged based on running into a very hot MD team.

    It's all relative compared to MD/Bosco. Serra would be competitive with most teams not named MD/Bosco/Gorman. There is a massive gap between these teams and everybody else. I don't think any other team would have fared much better.

    I really liked the block in the back penalty on the punt that wasn’t fielded and MD just let it roll. lol. Majority of the penalties were encroachment.

    Exactly. Enrollment is irrelevant. Put all the top schools in the same bracket.

    Ridiculous that Florida doesn't have their best teams in the same bracket. STA, CM and AH all being in different divisions makes no sense.

    What does this have to do with Serra? I’m saying I don’t think Birmingham, or any city team, would win. I congratulated them for taking the game.

    I don’t give any team from the CIF city section much of a chance. But props to Birmingham for taking the game.

    I get it. I get excited by good games. So it has to be OOS for you to get excited? What if IMG played STA or CM? You don't like MD/Bosco? haven't you always enjoyed Bergen/Bosco?

    Ranking depends on quality of opponents, not their location. I would agree with you if they were able to get an opponent better than Folsom or DLS that was OOS, then in that case it would help their cause. But it means more to the team and their fans in NorCal to play what are arguably the 2 teams from NorCal with the best reputation.

    So it would be better to schedule an OOS game rather than Bosco in order to reach their potential? OOS does equal quality nor does a team's state factor into the SOS equation. All I care about is the level of competition, not if they reside in a different state.

    Great nonleague schedule next season for Serra. Much respect for that program and what Patrick Walsh is doing there.

    @GardenStateBaller you aren’t at the game supporting the locals?😉 I almost went but I’d rather watch it on my couch than freeze my ass off on a Tuesday night. My son is at the game. I’m pulling for Delby since I know some of their kids from town and actually coached them in travel baseball for several years.

    In Cali the 2020 season was played in the Spring of 2021. MD finished ranked #1 by Massey and Calpreps for what was actually considered the 2020 season. But we would never claim to have won anything in 2020. IMO if you don’t have playoffs, you can’t claim anything.
