Alot of teams can start in the Top 25 and move up (benefiting from other teams Top 25 losses) running Lakeland's pathetic schedule.   Even a team like DePaul would go 10-0

8/26 Clearwater

Largo

Winterhaven.

 

While the real Top 25 teams are doing Battle on the infamous 8/26 date, Lakeland is playing Clearwater.   Count me out on Lakeland.   Please remove them from further discussion on the Naional board, let alone stinking up the Top 25.

That's why I suggested that it wouldn't be a bad idea to include the Mendoza rating as something that will rise or drop teams in the poll 

 

If @GardenStateBaller is willing to apply this we could get the formula ready by the time the first season rankings come out and a team like Lakeland while they keep winning can be pulled out of the top 25 and put much lower because of their Mendoza ranking

Otherwise you will get a bunch of people saying "this team was ranked and hasn't lost, why they drop out of top 25"

Osceola is literally the only team with a pulse that Lakeland has played but I guess that's supposed to be enough to justify top 5 in the country Because they went out and recruited the Polk county all star team

In CPs final T25 poll for 2022, Lakeland had the second worst SOS (33.5) of those teams listed. The top 3 in terms of SOS were as follows:

SJB 60.2

SFA 60.1

MD 60

Chaminade beat St John's DC and played at #6 Bishop Gorman.

TCC beat #43 Hoban and lost to #15 ED by 3. 

Dutch Fork hosted #5 SFA.

Lakeland played no OOS teams, and barely beat the #107 team in America twice. Nice try.
