It would be great to have an undisputed state champ in Florida. Long overdue.

But it won't happen because the FHSAA is run by quacks and they only used open division as a red herring to get metro suburban replaced

Now it will be back to state title games that are decided by an average of 35 points

Typical of the clowns running the show in that state

You can always count on Floridumb to get it wrong.

Metro/Suburban was the closest system to “fair” that the FHSAA was ever going to create, and they abandoned it after 2 years without a truly good reason.

We’ll be going back to 25+ point playoff blowouts about 7 months from now.

Sometimes I can't figure out who's dumber

The state of Florida leadership, the FHSAA, or the absolute quacks on those other message boards

Sometimes it's about equal

You can’t let trolls on an internet chat room bother you. People like GA96, RedZone, 941VeniceIndian, Canes, and PCGridiron, are all morons and aren’t worth your time. Sometimes, the only winning move is to just not play. You can’t apply reason to unreasonable people.

But then again when you have statboys like Los who think student enrollment means a damn thing and it gets repeated and festered among the morons running the state it's not all that surprising that stupid ideas get brought up constantly yet working ideas either get dropped after a single sports cycle or get mentioned once in a meeting and never brought up again

St. Thomas Aquinas - 2,085

Miami Central - 1,400

American Heritage - 1,575

Chaminade-Madonna - 585

Columbus - 1,740 (all-boys)

Cardinal Gibbons - 1,031

Two of the three smallest in student population in that group and both have finished #1 in the state in the past two seasons

But you're gonna tell me enrollment means a damn thing to success? GTFO with that stupid shit

St Frances MD has less than 300 students in the entire high school.

Again just more proof that enrollment doesn't mean nothing

If a school can pull the best of the best from anywhere (like every Florida school listed can) then their numbers don't mean anything

And before anyone says otherwise, the private schools I listed don't have boarding so any student attending has to either move or commute to the school so they aren't housing kids on their campus just for football like some like to falsely claim on some "other sites"

People love to b**ch and moan about private schools having unsightly advantages over publics.

But this doesn’t make any sense when you remember that public schools are equal-opportunity offenders with the open transfer movement. Metro/Suburban was a huge step in the right direction only to get tossed into the wastebasket after 2 seasons.

Floridumb gets it wrong once again. What else is new?

Another thing that message board morons love to do is senselessly bash California’s playoff system while refusing to even acknowledge the absolute disgrace of a playoff system here in Floridumb.

Chaminade fielded a top-3 team nationally last season and outscored their playoff competition 210-7. They were on the doorstep of breaking records in their game against Avant Garde and beat CCC in a state championship game by 56 points.

Morons on the PG board: “This is perfect!” “We’ve used this system forever and it has yet to fail us!” 🤡

Three OOS games next season will define the current state of Florida HSFB:

SJB at C-M

BG at STA

Milton at AHP

The problem with putting all the top teams in one playoff bracket is the rest of the playoff brackets are meaningless with average to bad teams.

And California’s one and only playoff bracket is only half good in the South. The North part stinks.

So Cali has 0.5 meaningful and interesting playoff brackets in a state of 1,200 teams.

congrats

It would work differently in Florida. The North Florida rural schools couldn’t possibly compete with any of the South Florida powers, ever. So why even bother putting them in the same class? To get their heads smashed in so badly that they consider leaving the FHSAA, or perhaps even consider beginning a new state association?

Do you remember Baker County vs Miami Central a couple of years ago? Complete abomination of a game and a travesty that they had to play in the first place.  The talent pool in those two parts of the state aren’t comparable whatsoever. Anyone whom tells you otherwise is either willfully ignorant, outright lying/pushing an agenda, or trolling. And they can’t be taken seriously.
