  1. If I were a betting man, I would jump all over it. Valdosta walks.
  2. No matter. This game will be a game of exposure...........and Valdosta wins easily in Ohio.
  3. Questionable timing. Of course we know most of these games are scheduled a couple years ahead. The fact remains that they lost their QB, rb, a couple of their top wr's. Time will tell.
  4. I see that too. As I said, that lofty ranking could be questionable, given they lost so much.
  5. They lost 2/3 of their offensive production, so it remains to be seen.
  6. Dutch Fork my not be able to stay in this game offensively. If Colquitt plays D like they are capable, they win easily.
  7. Going to be one of those years in 6A. Very deep this year. NSWR does not belong.
  8. Proving begins Friday in the final dress rehearsals.
  9. I think the games are a better fit for inside in Dec. in Atlanta. Really too cold outside and you never know what the weather will do.
  10. Jekail Middlebrooks for Hughes. Another transfer from Lovejoy at another contender. If we could just keep them???
  11. More than welcome......you are. GPB has Woodward ranked #3 in 6A and we play them tomorrow night in what is essentially the region 3 championship. Both will be favored in the remainder of their schedule. Lovejoy 3-2, 2-0, lost to Crisp county, a AAA school 41-25. Crisp is currently ranked # 10 by MP and GPB in their class. We also lost to South Atlanta, the team with the states leading rusher from last season, Keyjuan Brown. Contained him for 2 quarters..........total? 324 yards on 31 carries and 4 TD's. He had 79 at half. South Atlanta is currently #9 by MP, #3 by GPB. We are at our low point but the kids play on. I could write a book after attending games for the last 22 years here. Still seeing many first......like those 2 loses to smaller schools. Maybe we can beat a top ranked team in the state and reverse our fortunes. Don't think we have ever lost on Thursday.
  12. Yes, southeast and southwest. They are all located in what is known as the Southern Crescent. It consist of Clayton, Henry, Coweta, Spalding, Fayette and South Fulton. CG is on the county border of 3 of those counties in Dekalb. Creekside, East Coweta, Newnan, Lovejoy, Starr's Mill, Griffin, Hughes, Westlake, Whitewater, Sandy Creek, South Atlanta, Woodward Academy are all schools in the Southern Crescent.
  13. Hughes and Creekside are 6 miles apart but Cedar Grove is on the opposite side of Atlanta in Dekalb, 22 miles from Hughes and 25 miles from Hughes.
  14. True.........all parts of your statement.
  15. Mick, good catch. You are correct. It was a misread on my part. He is a senior this year.
  16. From what I see, they both lost tons of talent. Both lost their qb, with Bosco losing qb1 and qb2. Who replaces their qb with the most experience to lead has the upper hand. They both lost wr's, db's and linemen. I don't see a repeat of last year's shutout. A much closer game with Bergen winning again.
  17. Maybe. I understand the concept. This is not a thing that is reserved for the upper echelon of teams. I see an undefeated middle school team year after year but they falter as they transition to varsity. Coaching and other factors combine for reasons beyond the players control, to make varsity not so as expected. Hence a down year. Never say never.
  18. Year to year sometimes includes an increase or decrease in talent levels at all positions. Let's say DBP graduated half their secondary. Same happened at SJB but at receiver, with a better talent than DBP obtained at db. That changes the matchup and possibly the game results. Just speculating.........
  19. That was then. You can't compare these teams with those. Different players no doubt. Probability?
  20. I would like to see an influx of top tier players into HBCU"s. The scouts go where the talent is.
  21. This is going to cause some buyer remorse. Imagine the kid that bust. Imagine the corporate effect. Insurance coverage and claims due to injury. Guaranteed money? All that in addition to the logistics of the athletes course of ascension to his desired destination, such as where he plays, how much he plays and what deal is right for him. Should be interesting once it gets into the game coast to coast on the regular.
  22. Facts..........in my post. If MC has a down year and happen to lose to a Georgia team, that would just be another in the line of Georgia playing a Florida nobody, as in the case with the Godby"s of the state. Once good, now not so and they fall into the category with Norland, another that today is his trash that Georgia plays, not the team they were.
