  1. My question is, who says those teams you consider the best....the best?. They have not proven themselves against nothing but a handful of teams, also given lofty ranking without consideration of anything but their results against that same over-ranked opposition, mostly recruited up teams. We have seen this past two weeks that many of the top 10, top 100, top 250 teams in America, are surviving on reputation. Next year, a couple more will join them.
  2. How many of the top 25 are in Florida's highest class?
  3. Simply lost. No matter how you lose. This is another bullet point to the national best argument. Any Given Friday
  4. Your assessment of how this goes seems warped. Georgia won the games it won. If CM beats SFA, it will mean they were better or they simply won a couple match-uos at certain positions. Maybe you get an even game, except the kicking game. Match-uos matter. Talent matters. Any Given Friday
  5. An interesting slate of games. Some of the best Florida has to offer.
  6. My bad. Then I assume Cedar Grove would top the poll for the rest of the state.
  7. No way. Benedictine may acquit themselves for a quarter-quarter and a half.......but then reality sets in. They are not Cedar Grove......yet I note Cedar Grove's omission from this poll. There is no way anyone in Georgia would not include Cedar Grove in the top 10-15 in the state, regardless of class........but thanks anyway.
  8. Strange things are happening in some Georgia football towns on Friday nights. This week, we find a double take. A look at similarities between games involving the same two teams in back to back years. Below is the story: https://usatodayhss.com/2023/tiktok-challenge-gets-georgia-hs-matchup-canceled-for-second-straight-year
  9. Buford (1-0) Last week: Beat St. Frances Academy, Md., 18-0. Dylan Raiola was 14-of-26 passing for 178 yards and two touchdowns, and Buford beat the consensus No. 4 team in the country. Buford, the consensus No. 7 team, had five sacks, blocked a punt (Devin Williams) and a blocked field-goal attempt (Tyshun White and Bryce Perry-Wright) and forced turnovers on a fumble and interception and recovered a dropped punt. St. Frances QB Van Buren, who is committed to Oregon, was limited to 88 yards passing. Buford is the first team to shut out St. Frances since 2016 (IMG Academy). St. Frances’ record since then had been 51-3 against national competition. Next: Friday at Mallard Creek, N.C. (1-0) Colquitt County (1-0) Last week: Beat Dutch Fork, S.C., 48-17. Colquitt County took a 28-0 halftime lead and dominated South Carolina’s reigning Class 5A champion. Dutch Fork scored its points in the final 16 minutes. Ny Carr had seven receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Neko Fann was 18-of-27 passing for 240 yards and four touchdowns. Colquitt County had 248 yards rushing and 240 passing. Next: Friday vs. Stockbridge (0-1)
  10. No, I'm saying that no matter who plays, if it is Florida vs Georgia, you insist the Florida teams are not very good. In addition, your incessant banter of Georgia only scheduling crap Florida teams gets old. Florida must get better.
  11. I agree. I just wanted Nole to answer given his disdain for Georgia. Every team Georgia plays from Florida is trash, according to him so............
  12. Was the back that good or......did the size and depth do Valdosta in?
  13. I told you Valdosta would represent. They have so far but the clock has to strike 0:00.
  14. Georgia handling business and the post for the excuse thread come out.
  15. Not going to happen. Not that many city schools would be willing to exit the GHSA. If they do, they have no platform for other sports on the same level. There may be 10-15 private schools in the GHSA playing football and even fewer that are truly competative. It is primarily made up of county schools and that relationship between county and state is strong.
  16. I wonder how much reputation is weighing against Georgia teams this week. Reputation of their opponents. Valdosta is going to represent. They will leave Ohio still the winningest program, no matter what. Colquitt at Colquitt? No doubt. It is hard to beat them in Moultrie. I know this from being there. Buford is my question mark. They are talented enough, they have good coaching and they are a complete team. They are more than capable of competing against anyone. We shall see how the ball bounces come Friday. It may be the defining and deciding factor.
  17. You may be right. 5A is top heavy yet what they showed tonight will not do against the likes of WR, Ware Co or Dutchtown.
  18. Kell is supposed to be decent this year but from the looks of it, they have much work to do.
