That is nice.

In Texas, we want to be on the Mount Rushmore of Texas High School Football 🏈 and you get there and do that by winning state.

It’s not easy.

No where close.

Please note that there are only three, 3, tres, san nationally-relevant teams in the entire state of TX.

Let me know when Mater Dei or St. John Bosco play in So-Fi stadium or a place like this: IMG_9814.thumb.webp.dadbe9ea9257015c28484275ec6a146d.webp

For an actual championship like this: IMG_9813.jpeg.9afd465ed113dc4211d8bf2957ad5ff9.jpeg

There’s nothing like it.

Playing oos doesn’t touch this.

That’s why Texas found not care less about what is happening in California or Florida or Maryland when we have this to fight for right here.

Beating teams like Vandegrift and Prosper will get you nowhere in the long run.

Only a few teams at all did what you are asking. Less than 5 in the last 10 years. Bergen Catholic did it and STA did. Not sure who else

Of course. You (GSB) can’t measure a teams schedule by OOS scheduling alone. The amount of top 10 OOS teams squaring up is slim.

C-M has a great schedule this year…highlighted by instate powers central and AHP, not BC and SFA.

Programs that have beaten OOS teams that finished in the Top 10 since 2014:

IMG (SPP, Grayson, Cen10); BG (Cen10, SJB, STA); MD (IMG, SFAx2, DV, BG); SFA (IMG); STA (St Louis); G-K (CH); BC (ED); SJR (ED)

Last season they tried to get the MD/Bosco game moved to SoFi but we thankfully refused to move our home game to a neutral site. Playing high school games in large stadiums sucks.  The finals at the rose bowl was terrible, and not because we lost. I’d much rather play at a packed Santa Ana stadium than an empty cavernous NFL stadium.

I enjoyed the Rose bowl

If Mater Dei and St John Bosco were Texas teams; your championship would be in the Death Star and it would be completely full.

Agreed. But most people in Cali care less about high school football and we would be lucky to get 15K people. It wasn’t always this way. In the 1990s we could get 30K to a championship game.

Not in any of our lifetimes is California better than Texas.

Hell you don’t even know if Mater Dei or SJB would be better than a team from Houston or Dallas who stacked 30 transfers onto one team. Imagine if that happened.

In a Cali vs Texas top 10, California would take the first 2 games, and this year who knows. SJB wouldn't guarantee beat Desoto. And after that Texas would take the next 8. It would be ugly.

Saying Cali is better than TX because they have 2 teams who stack transfers by the dozens but ignore the other 50-100 teams from TX who would beat the 50-100 Cali teams is trolling at best, and brain dead at worst

And Mater Dei and SJB play OOS games because they HAVE to. Not because they want to. They can’t fill their schedule in state. It happened to Bishop Gorman. This isn’t a good look for California. Over 1,200 football teams and those 2 can’t find 5 of them to agree to play. That doesn’t show any strength at all.

It just shows California is just Nevada with 2 Bishop Gormans. Lol

Same goes for SFA. Cowards who refuse to play the Power Privates will never be rewarded for avoiding the best.
