Open enrollment is a TEA initiative (academic) its not a uil sports workaround.  Uil imposed transfer restrictions with OE campuses.

San Marcos HS is open enrollment. They thought they could do a similar thing like MD does in picking up about 7-8 or so athletes outside the school zone and car ride in. They got busted and reprimanded by the uil and the transfers were denied. 

OE is not a workaround or pass from uil transfer restrictions.

North Shore no longer has the Cypress Schools in their way, Katy, Manvel, or any other school that could give them issues. Many of these districts are now multi-high [7-8-9] school districts now; beforehand they were 1-2 high school districts.

But the talent level of these 2 schools is higher than they've ever had.

Yes and they've all been open enrollment districts. 

 

All these schools went from having no talent to having a plethora of 3, 4 and 5 stars. He starts off with multiple transfers and then he doesn't need them anyone since the schools established.

It hasn’t been magical, he was hired in 2015 and he won his first title in 2022.  

you say 50% of his starters are outside of Duncanville, who are they, that’s s high percentage? 

a matter of fact I recall you claimed DV gets on average a transfer  4**** every year.  Who are these star athlete transfers the past 2 seasons?

Answer this, why hasn't Duncanville had this much talent on their football teams before Samples?

There have been a few teams who almost had the right timing; but that group was special. The same goes for the first Duncanville team to come out of nowhere. The 2018 and 2019 teams were their greatest because they had complete teams. 

The major difference is you used to have a gauntlet of Houston teams to get through just to get to the semis.

Those teams have been watered down due to their district Ms building multiple high schools around them which separates the talent.

Northshore has had talent, I'll give you them.

Previous coach didn’t develop them at the lower levels. Samples puts a lot of effort/energy into the middle schools. 

I’m sure families are moving into DV to get their kids into samples program (Duncanville is a robust suburb) and probably a small percentage take adv of OE.

Talent without leadership at the top is worthless.  Not much difference now. The district has 3 really good teams

2. Desoto

3. Waxahacie- check these guys out.  Very good looking team with high end athletes.

then you have South Oak Cliff, Lancaster, Red Oak type schools that are all loaded with D1 kids.  Not to mention how close Mansfield ISD and Arlington ISD are to DV, DS - If you know anything about Texas recruiting then you should realize that if any school in this area was truly allowed to get any kid they wanted - that team would super elite.  It just doesn’t work like that here!

The talent has been there…It’s just being sculpted now.  I doubt you would understand the dynamics of community like DV.  
 

Do you know any history about DV and the national success they have had in BAsketball for example.
