  1. Good night of football with some interesting and frightful scores Mt. Carmel (4-0) 42 Marist (2-2) 7 - this was close early on maybe halfway through the 2nd qtr then the floodgates opened. Game against Loyola can't come quick enough. St. Charles North (3-1) 22 Wheaton North (3-1) 21 - North Stars pull off the upset of defending 7A champs the week after WN upset 7A favorite Batavia. This conference race will be interesting Jacobs (4-0) 42 Prairie Ridge (3-1) 35 - 6A stalwart goes down. Homewood-Flossmoor (3-1) 35 Lockport (3-1) 20 - Vikings take down 8A defending champ after opening up a 27-0 1st half lead Joliet Catholic (4-0) 49 Providence (2-2) 41 - Hilltoppers down a couple scores late rally to defeat their local rival and remain undefeated Neuqua Valley (3-1) 29 Naperville North (3-1) 16 - North came in highly ranked in this cross town matchup. Neuqua seems to be finding their footing after losing their best player and star QB midway through week 2 Lotta higher ranked teams fell last night.
  2. Prospect @ Maine South was a helluva game I recommend anyone with a few hours to kill to watch it. It's a unique experience watching games at Maine South as O'Hare Airport is just minutes away so there's a steady stream of low flying planes overhead well throughout the game.
  3. Thursday night football was fantastic. Prospect 43 Maine South 42 - down two scores in the 2nd half MS looked to be finished when Prospect completed a 80+ yard pass down to the MS 1 except the play gets called back for some home cooking. The next play a batter pass gets intercepted for the 6 yard pick 6 to bring the Hawks within 7. MS would go on to score the next two TDs in the 4th to take a 41-34 lead with around 3 mins remaining. Prospect marches down the field and scores a TD and goes for two with less than a min remaining. And seals the deal. A second game Glenbrook South and Palatine also came down to a 2pt conversion with less than a minute remaining in a game in the 40's, where Glenbrook South sprung the upset. Maybe this is the year Glenbrook South can knock off Maine South 🤔
  4. SFA should be one spot in front of ESL. And behind about 7 IL teams.
  5. I'm talmbout @Omaha Vol's no nonsense poll. That one is 🔥🔥🔥. Still missing Simeon, but I can mess with it.
  6. This is good. Gonna get out to see Naperville North Friday as I haven't seen them this year, but they have the highest rated QB in state for his class and he throws to a nice WR. Not sure what else they have though. Saw them in week 9 last year and was surprised at how good the combo was.
  7. There's some closeted IMGs that need to come out and find each other and play so they both can be happy.
  8. Why is age unfair? What about age gives an advantage? My dad is 61 I'm Mike Gundy, I'm 40, does he have the advantage if we play football?
  9. You're forgetting about winning mentality and good coaching all of a sudden. Why?
  10. Calpreps SOS is awful. Can't even quantify how bad.
  11. Why are you against IMG playing other clubs that also recruit teenagers across the nation for football? This sounds mighty suspicious.
  12. Makes complete sense. IMG recruits teenagers across the map to play football, colleges recruit teenagers across the map to play football. This makes much more sense.
  13. Why would I be opposed to anyone making money off of their name image and likeness? It's not about the 80's it's about IMG not being high school but wanting to play high school sports. Actually they could try to play colleges. Thats more along the lines of what they are. They should play Benedictine University.
  14. Where's Donovan Olugbode from? Not that it matters. It's just not high school. Not sure why not high schools want to play high school sports. Someone should really start up a club football league where kids ages 14-18 go to random clubs across the country and play each other.
  15. This would make a little sense (not a lot) if IMG didn't recruit the best football players they can from across the map. If IMG loses to real high schools doesn't that mean they don't have quality confident head coaches? And since they don't just suit up the tennis team to play Miami Central (Mt. Carmel is MC) aren't they the actual cowards?
  16. The question was rhetorical. I don't have a problem with IMG maybe there should even be more IMG's, they should just play each other though. Football AAU circuit. They don't play football with the tennis team because it's not about coaching and winning mentality. All I'm saying is they're not high school football and shouldn't be playing for the same goal as high school teams.
  17. If it was about winning mentality and coaching why do they have to recruit all the top players across the country? They should suit up the tennis team to play football on Fridays and Saturdays. If I'm a high school team I'd want to play other high school teams. I may scrimmage IMG in a game that doesn't count though.
  18. Found this while youtubing. Coach McAllister, previously of the much ballyhooed Phillips.
  19. Don't know about IMG hoops. But it's still not high school, it's club. I didn't argue that school teams can't beat club teams, and especially in hoops where one player can mean a world of difference. I'm saying they're two different things. And that doesn't even mean they shouldn't scrimmage or play, just shouldn't play a game that matters. When I played pop Warner we had an annual "bowl" game before our real season started against a program in YFL or some other league. Their weight requirements were different than Pop Warners so we were always matched up against bigger teams, not by the luck of the draw but by rule. It was okay to play the game, the game just didn't count. We won some and lost some.
  20. Week 4 games of interest: Prospect (3-0) @ Maine South (2-1) Thurs Marist (2-1) @ Mt. Carmel (3-0) Wheaton N (3-0) @ St. Charles N (2-1) Homewood-Flossmoor (2-1) @ Lockport (3-0)
