BG barely beat a 4-loss MC in Vegas!!
Those 4 loses were all to top 20 ranked teams by a combined 13 points. MC is a top 25 team themselves and could easily have been 12-0. BG scheduling them (your defending national champs) doesn’t seem like chickening out to me. Cen10 is a legit top 25 team and BG smoked them. Corner Canyon is another top 25 team that BG smoked by 3 TDs. Would BG have beaten Mater Dei in Santa Ana, who knows? I don’t think it’s too far fetched to think they could have. Personally, I think it would’ve been 50/50. That’s why they are the top 2 teams in my poll.
The top 5 in my poll are BG, MD, SJB, IMG and C-M. I think that any one of them could beat the other on any given day.

I’m just asking, who’s the best team? Who can consistently beat MD?
No one could consistently. In one game, maybe BG.

10 game schedule
8 of 10 games were vs. non Top 100 teams
0 playoffs
Did not play any elites in their own state
No top 10 National wins.
3 point win over SJP (SJP has 0 top 100 wins).
Best win is vs a Minor State (Indiana) team which has no Top 50 wins, and only beat 2 Top 100 teams by 3 points each
eeked out a 3 point win over SFA which lost to SJB by 23 points and Mater Dei by 13 points.
Yet, GSB, who is soooo big on SOS, has IMG #1.

Tonight MD played like the best team in country. The defense was special. So, one more game with SM Serra?

The N in MNC stands for National. Can't play an entirely in-state schedule and expect to be a "National" champ. Look at the last 5-7 years of Champs. They all have at least one oos win to their credit. Hence, the modern era of HSFB.
Not always. I'm all for the OOS scheduling of teams. I just don't base my rankings entirely on that. N. Shore is a prime exammple of that. They've had some juggernauts over the years.

Do you agree with MD being #1 this morning in two national polls? Each pollster has its own set of criteria. SOS is #3 in our list of criteria behind 1. being undefeated and 2. having at least one elite oos win.
Not after getting blanked by SJB 28-0.

Good call on Omaha Westside. If I can get caught up, hope to have a poll out next week.
They are stacked. Omaha is open zone, so all the best players go to Westside. I just wish they would play more out of state games.

I respect your opinion.
In our poll DS and NS aren't qualified due to their lack of an elite, OOS win. In our opinion a team can't earn a MNC with all intrastate wins. Remember, the N in MNC stands for "National" as in national schedule.
#4 C-M is ranked higher than #5 BG in our poll because C-M beat #15 MC on the road, while BG struggled to beat MC in Vegas.
If you go back the last 10 seasons every consensus MNC has a win vs an elite, OOS private. That should be the norm going forward in our opinion.
That's the issue a lot of people have with your poll. SOS is very important, but it is NOT the tell all for every team.

Kickoff at 10:30pm EST
BG already beat the Patriots 49-6 during the regular season.
BG best win this season is vs #17 (Comp Poll) Cen10.
But, it was a dominating 4 touchdown win. Also, beat another top 25 team (Corner Canyon) by 3 TDs, as well as one more top 25ish team in Miami Central. Adding to that, two routs of one more top rated team in Liberty (top 125ish). Impressive season!
It’s my understanding that there will not be any postseason bowl games this year? No Geico, right?

Year One at Norcross; Year Two at Mill Creek
OOS teams already interested include West UT, LA and SJB. Stay tuned!
I hope that's not Lipscomb Academy? With everything going on there who knows what kind of a team they'll have next year.

Suffice to say that #23 McCallie will be falling from our rankings next week.
I thought about dropping them in my poll last week. I’ve had them in the 45-55 range for a few weeks now. After almost losing to Knox Catholic last week I should’ve dropped them, but I wrote it off as a bad week or overlooking them. It looks like Baylor is the better team now.

I wouldn’t say C-M handled them THAT much easier than BG. They held them off and won by 3 in the end. BG won a back and forth battle by 4. The biggest selling point for me is their dismantling of Cen10 by 28.
