I would love to see that, but most places aren't open to it.
I think Memorial Cath could’ve challenged a top 70-150 nationally ranked team last year and, maybe, this year as well.
Xaverian Bros is well known to me and I’ve never lived in the northeast. -

Apparently, Xaverian was in discussions with St. John Bosco over the offseason. Nothing materialized, but interesting nonetheless.
Props for X to try and schedule them, but that would’ve been a bloodbath.

I will add that I think CM is worthy of any national rankings that come its way. The Knights have about a dozen D1 players, and they're experienced.
If they’re going to be as good as they were last year they will definitely be a top 100 team this year, and that’s no nonsense!

Thanks, brother. Looking forward to posting here. I’ve been traveling, so I won’t be posting very much for a bit. But I’m looking forward to the Spring and Summer. I’m still following DLS at their crossroads. It’ll be interesting as to what direction they go. I’m hearing that they are gonna stay the course. Their schedule reflects that. But I’m also looking forward to participating as a Tennessee resident now. Oakland, Maryville, Powell, Lipscomb Academy, Summit, Brentwood Academy, and a few others are pretty solid teams. Oakland is like how DLS used to be: run heavy, disciplined, and athletes at the right positions. Keep an eye on them. Thanks for the site, GSB. Keep up the strong work. I am way over the other one.
What part of Tennessee did you move to? If you’re near Knoxville you should venture just south to Blount county and catch the Maryville/Alcoa game. It’s an intense rivalry. Alcoa’s a smaller school, but will take on any of the big boys in TN.

Huge game! CB is playing ESL, Bishop Chatard IN and Warren Central IN to round out their OOS slate
Those are some interesting matchups. All quality teams for CB.

That is weak for Hoover. If it was basketball that might be an interesting game.

That’s great news. They didn’t need that many. Hell, they have about 100 less teams than Florida and had the same amount of classes.
For once a state association is using common sense and reducing the amount of classes. The playoffs will be very interesting now.
Doesn’t FL have 8 classes now? Too many.TN likes their watered down champions. 6 classes are WAY too many for their population.

Lipscomb has three OOS games planned that I'm aware of:
8/19 at GA team in Freedom Bowl (Flo)
8/27 at Thompson AL
9/10 vs Calvert Hall MD (Flo)
It looks like DL is the only TN team with some balls! Lol
(I’m still butt hurt that TN’s best, Oakland, chickened out of playing Liberty)

What am I missing?
I’m hearing Nashville Lipscomb is traveling to Birmingham to take on AL state champ Thompson. Is this true or just rumor?

Solid schedule. It’s good to see Corner Canyon finally stepping up to rep Utah.

Teams that should face SFA in those states
Tennessee: Lipscomb Academy OR Oakland
Oakland was scared to play Henderson Liberty at home. They would NEVER schedule a team like SFA.
Lipscomb, however, has balls and would take them on. They wouldn’t win, but they would try. Lol- 1

Interested in seeing if Donnie Yantis does any OOS scheduling now that he's at Prestonwood Christian. That school has plenty of resources. Maybe he'll draw some talent from the surrounding areas like Addison, Carrollton, or Plano.
When he was at Valor Christian he had them play two decent private schools from CA and WA. Not so much at Paradise Valley, though.
Maybe Nolan Catholic, Argyle Liberty or All-Saints have something in the works for this year.
Cornerstone is traveling to Nashville to take on Brentwood Academy. That could be an interesting game. Not sure how good Cornerstone will be this year?

Oppty fell through.
Still can’t believe they chickened out against Liberty. That would’ve been a good game.

Very nice! Wish Oakland would step up in a similar fashion.
Any news yet on the GA team coming up to Murfreesboro?
BA has had better schedules.

Cali VS OOS football matches ideas
1. SJB VS SFA
3. MD VS IMG
Would rather see MD vs SFA this year. It's looking like SFA might be preseason #1 in most polls.....

The issue to me isn’t even the metro/suburban thing even though that is stupid. The main issue I have is 9 fucking classes. Are you kidding me? Jesus Christ, when it was 8 I thought that was about 2-3 too many. And they add another! This participation trophy society is running amok
Jesus! 9 classes now!? I agree with you with about the participation trophies. I've been bitching about this for Tennessee for years, to no avail. TN has 5 classes when they should have no more than 3 based on population of the state. Back when I played there we had 3 classes (that included the privates). The playoffs were no joke back in those days. A state championship was definitely earned back then. I miss that!

Thanks for the info. Who played Salpointe (I’m assuming that game was in Tucson?)

TX actually has a long history of OOS games. We are a public State and I dont know of any other public State that has played these teams the last 17 years. Bellevue 2x, STA, Cocoa 2x, East UT, Bingham UT, Shiloh Christian, ECA, LA, ECA, DE, Bellevue 2x, IMG 3x, DLS, MD, SJC (DC), LaSalle, OH, St. Joe's, PA, JC, LA, Buford, GA, Jenks, Union. Broken Arrow, Bixby, Salpointe Catholic, AZ, Anchorage South, Ak, Venice, Fl, Hoover, Al, Dutch Fork, SC, Olive Branch, MS, Bryant, AR, Rockhurst, MO, Miramar, Fl, Dillard, Fl, BTW, Fl, Plant, Fl. Off the top of my head. But people think Texas avoids OOS. We don't. The coaches dont like to travel. Many of these teams are State champs or runner ups. If I add our Privates it's a lot more. To include IL, TN and others
Just curious…how many of those games were actually played out of state?

Is a power ATL squad taking on Oakland TN?
It can’t be a top GA team they are trying to play. If they were scared of playing Henderson Liberty I doubt they want a power team. (Maybe they got Liberty confused with Gorman 🙄).

I'd like to see any and all of the following 11 teams play an elite OOS opponent:
Thompson AL
Oakland TN
Lol. I was going to say Oakland should play Thompson since they never challenge themselves out of state.
Oakland has already chickened out of playing Henderson Liberty.

Looking forward to your weekly polls as well. It's alot of work for you, but gives us something to complain about. LOL. I do like that you are answering the critics and providing your justifications for the placements.
I’ll keep doing it. It’s fun for me. I also compare my poll to your tiers.

That had to be disappointing. I think MC could’ve put up a decent fight against one of the Jersey Boys.
I’m still disappointed that Oakland chickened out against Liberty,NV. It appears David Lipscomb is the only team in Tennessee with any balls! Lol
