They're refusing to schedule the elites despite they having the same exact features and benefits.

Baylor and McCallie are good teams (top 100ish nationally), but they would get smoked by the elite top 20-25 teams. Maybe they can get there in the future, but not right now. They are private schools with money. Oakland is the only public that can challenge them these days.

Interesting, indeed, if true.  Not sure that Oak Ridge has ever traveled anything close to that far.  That's kind of odd in and of itself; would think they'd start closer to home if they want to start traveling.  San Joaquin Section kids are usually tough as nails, but not sure how much talent they have.

First off, I got that from a Tennessee site that isn’t always accurate. On the other hand, McCallie always schedules a couple OOS teams every year that will challenge them.

McCallie is an all boys boarding school with a lot of money. It’s possible they could be helping out with the travel expenses. McCallie is usually pretty good. Oak Ridge will have their hands full.

yeah probably true.  dilfer was driving that for sure.

It looks like they are playing the return game with Christian Bros in St. Louis. Plus, they scheduled The First Academy. (I've never even heard of them?) This is according to CoachT.

Knox Catholic taking on Winter Haven,FL and Baylor playing Coconut Creek,FL.

I see a California(Oak Ridge) team is coming to Chattanooga to play McCallie. I hope that's El Dorado Hills,CA Oak Ridge. Interesting game if it is.

Kind of surprised Brentwood Acad. isn't taking on an OOS opponent this year. They should be a lot better this year. Still a tough in state schedule, though.

Per CalPreps Eastwood finished #1262 in USA. Below are the teams that each Top 5 Texas Power played that were ranked behind Eastwood:

    DS (2) = #2066 Legacy, #3024 Lake Ridge

    DV (3) = #1990 Hutto, #2066 Legacy, #3024 Lake RIdge

    SLC (4) = #1418 Eaton, #1997 Haltom, #2389 Fossil Ridge, #5491 Keller Central

    NS (5) = #1379 Humble, #2057 Kingwood, #2295 Spring, #4021 Beaumont United, #5257 West Brook

    Aledo (5) = #1429 The Colony, #2744 Brewer, #3194 Azle, #5546 Saginaw, #10136 South Hills

TX 5 "best" played 19 games vs worse competition than Eastwood. Sad.

Those 5 teams listed played a combined 77 games. 19/77 is approx 25%. So, Eastwood was worse than 75% of the teams they played. That still doesn’t bode well for competition.

I wouldnt mind them having a year to get their feet under them before jumping in like that against a true national power.

yeah I was shocked by that game.

not sure if you have seen but there has been a lot of pushback about alcoa winning 9 in a row but not being willing to move up a class or 2.  hopefully they will get a success factor moving forward.

Alcoa’s good enough to play 6A. They don’t want to because in 6A they’re not going to win 9 gold balls in 10 years.

Tennessee should have no more than 4 classes in my opinion, but that’s another discussion.

fingers crossed.  would love to have saraland at our place to return the favor.  : ). I went to that game and it was a great game and amazing HSFB environment!

That would be fair. I could also see them playing SFA. They played IMG this year. Why not play the other national all-star team?

On another note, how about Houston thumping Oakland? Didn’t see that coming!

Again, 3-loss Cen10 is ranked behind SJP (IMG's best win) by the majority of national pollsters (6/8 polls). IMG will have wins vs three State Champs (two road wins). No other undefeated team can stake that claim.

Everyone knows SJP is ranked ahead of Cen10, but they sure as hell wouldn’t beat Cen10 by 28 points.
