    The game has a novelty aspect to it since it is Cali versus Texas and it will be a great atmosphere. But the game itself is a mismatch and it could get ugly.

    Servite was a great team last year. I never said they weren’t. I thought Cen10 was better. It was the only game last year that I was not sure whether MD would win. You will never convince me that Servite was better, and I will never convince you Cen10 was better. Let’s just agree to disagree and move on.

    And MD's performance against Cen10 I suppose had nothing to do with Cen10? There is no way that any Servite Homer would admit Cen10 was good and gave MD a tougher game.

    Corona Centennial was the second best team in Cali last year. And that is a hill I will die on.

    No argument from me. But as I mentioned, it doesn't matter because it will be settled on the field. But let ask you this, if both teams end up undefeated going into their 1st matchup, do you think the computers would have MD higher because Bosco has no tough (by that I mean there is a chance they won't win) pre-league games, whereas MD has two?

    This is only relevant for preseason hype. MD and Bosco will settle this on the field. Bosco's pre-league schedule is easy so the computers would put MD higher if they are both undefeated going into their first game. But this putting the cart way ahead of the horse. MD's games in back-to-back weeks at Gorman and at Cen10 are a pretty daunting task.

    Maybe so. But that is silly that they would go to a program that has not had the same success. In the last 10 years how many mythical national championships has each team won? You don't get better exposure at IMG either. IMO, and this can be debated, the coaching staffs are superior at MD and Bosco.

    Why? I wouldn't say there is a 'migration' because a few players from Cali decided to go there. To each their own. I personally wish that the CIF did not create the rule prohibiting Cali teams from playing IMG. But that rule has nothing to do with why these kids decided to attend IMG.

    Agreed. If we are limiting this to Cali publics, it makes sense that the OOS teams are public.

    We will be just fine at the WR position. TE Spencer Shannon should also be a receiving weapon this season. My only question now is who will be kicking and making sure the opposing team always is starting at their own 20? We have had a great kicker for years so hopefully somebody is ready to step up.

    Scorebook Live and SI sure thinks highly of Poly as they have them in their ‘next 10’. So Poly is a top 35 national preseason team according to them. I think that is a joke. But Poly could be around #10-15 in Cali.

    Agreed. You can make a strong case for SFA and I would expect them to be above Chandler in other rankings. Preseason rankings are really only good for discussion. If SFA goes undefeated with their schedule they will be #1 or 2 depending on what MD does, and Bosco perhaps. MDs first 2 games are at Gorman and at Cen10 so we will have some clarity by the end of August.

    Let’s get the conversation started. Nothing too surprising to me. They think very highly of Gorman and the state of Arizona.

    I agree that MD will be highly motivated to make a statement against Gorman. But I would also argue that Gorman will be equally motivated. I would predict MD to win by 14 to 21 points. But to say that Servite has the same chance of beating MD as Gorman is laughable. Gorman will be VERY good next season. If MD is flat they could be in for a fight. Unfortunately this is MD’s first game while it is Gorman’s second game.

    Los Al is filling the void that was left when Nygel Osborne transferred to Millikan.

    This incoming MD freshman just got an offer from USC. Will probably get in the rotation at DL this next season.
