Our poll will have SJB ranked ahead of MD to start the season.
As it should. Probably should have SFA over us, too, imo. Next season, though, it's OIAG again. Nobody touches us.

PDS is preseason #1 in NC. They should've been included.
Where did you read they're preseason #1? If so, bc of Davis, no doubt, but that would be a big step up for them, competition-wise. All four of the teams in those games have more size and speed than PDS has ever seen.

This is only relevant for preseason hype. MD and Bosco will settle this on the field. Bosco's pre-league schedule is easy so the computers would put MD higher if they are both undefeated going into their first game. But this putting the cart way ahead of the horse. MD's games in back-to-back weeks at Gorman and at Cen10 are a pretty daunting task.
Agreed. Not too concerned about Gorman. (Expecting them to be out of synch with all the late transfers, and just not convinced that a team that essentially got lucky vs MC can actually beat MD. Huge MD coaching advantage, too.) At Cen10, though, after last season's semi-final? It'll be a slug fest. Will Davison really have as much of an impact as Raleek? The answer to that question could decide the season. Plenty of folks more qualified than me say yes, but I'll believe it when I see it. Raleek was straight magic. Depends a lot on Marcus Harris, too. We would have the advantage against any team in the nation at OL and D is solid, as usual. So we win the trench war with Cen10, but not sure how much we'll be able to throw on them.

Let's not forget that Desoto lost to IMG, Westlake lost to Liberty NV and Cedar Hill lost to BG back in the day. And all of those loses were at home.
DV is not the only TX team to ever play a quality, OOS opponent. Your two best wins to date are over DLS and SJC. Very respectable.
And while we're at it, let's not forget Northwestern with the W over SLC back in the day.

Not this season! STA vs SJP, C-M vs SJC, Gibbons vs DeMatha, Edgewater vs DBP, AHP at Lowndes, AHP vs Los Al
No question. Love it.

IMG has a ton (too many to list)
C-M over Buford
MC over DBP
Cocoa over BC
STA over SFA
Columbus over Benedictine
STA over St Louis
STA over DLS
AHP over SJR
DFB over Buford
STA over DeMatha
STA over SJB
MC over BG
All true. Other than STA over SFA, it just seems like FL has either fallen off the past couple years or you have fewer FL teams stepping up against the bigs.

Top 100 is a tight window, doesn’t mean those guys listed aren’t legit 3/4****s.
Most definitely. Still, would think they'd have at least one.

TX and GA have faired dismally vs elite OOS competition of late. Meanwhile, CA and FL have many huge wins vs top OOS competition. Talent > Tradition
What are some of the recent, top FL wins? Genuinely curious.

No one from SFA. Interesting.

Expecting good things from him this season.
Wouldn't surprise me if he blows up, a la Mike in 2018 when the WR room was pretty bare (relatively speaking).

MD and SJB both declined SFAs advances in 2022. Trying again in 2023.
Declining does not necessarily mean unwillingness to play.

SFA beat IMG last year which is better then any win MD has had since MD beat SFA back in 2019….
MD's 14-point victory over the team that would beat them in the final that same year was more impressive than their 16-point victory over SFA. And you have no proof MD is dodging SFA. Please. And why would they? Bosco? Who knows? Maybe, especially since they ceded the SFA game to MD on their own home turf.

Totally Agree with You!!!….. While I enjoy the OOS games, I could care less about “National Championships” for HSFB….. These are subjective awards handed out by people who likely don’t even watch the Games….🤣
State Championships are what HSFB is about as they are earned on the field…... Until there is a National playoff (Which There Will Never Be), Any kind of HSFB “Natty” is nothing more then Mythical….
I mean is anyone on this Board Positive that MD would have Beat SFA last year?…. I’m not…. 🍻
Um, STA beat SFA. Yes, MD would have handled either of those teams by 10+.

I agree, but what top notch team did Lincoln play?
Los Al? Who got destroyed by Santa Margarita
Helix? Who lost 52-0 to Cathedral Catholic.
And Alemany got stomped by Bosco and MV. Your point?

That's actually not true
Long Beach Poly
5 star QB
4 Star WR
4 Star LB
4 Star CB
3 Star OL
3 Star LB
3 Star DL
3 Star Athlete
Both Rancho and Inglewood have 6, but this doesn't take into account Soph as well. Rancho just grabbed a Pop Warner coach that coached all of the top talent in the Rancho/ Fontana area. Which will result in a couple of kids transferring in there
I'll give you Poly. Definitely a better team than Lincoln (and for sure this season with Nico), but Inglewood got spanked by the only relatively top notch team they played and RC stunk it up.

I don't think that's true, it just depends on the year, who that team is. We've had Rancho Cucamonga(Baez was the coach, he's now the coach at Etiwanda), Vista Murrieta, Camarillo, Poly, Narbonne, Chaparral, Edison etc. I wouldn't use a SD section team
We're not talking about any year. We're talking about the present, and Lincoln is currently as good as or better than any of the schools you listed.

He wasn't on the list that I had
smh Let's try this again. Yes. I know he wasn't on the list you posted that purported to show that Lincoln was heavy on second and third level defensive guys and that solid linemen were non-existent. Which was disingenuous because Lincoln does, in fact, have a 3-star lineman that you conveniently left off. Make sense now?

Last years Helix and Los Al teams weren't some great teams.
Cathedral Catholic 52 Helix 0
Santa Margarita 42 Los Al 21
Neither of the above, nor Lincoln have good line play. That's why the above happened
The only publics that DO have good line play are Cen10 and MV, but the thread is about PUBLICS for GSB’s event and he needs more than two, so we have to talk other publics and Lincoln is plenty worthy of consideration if Los Al is.

Hell no
Excuse me? 4-star RB, #1 in CA 2023. 3-star OL. Four 3-stars on D. Lost by 4 to Los Al, and by a TD to Helix. Would be a solid choice.

Which state has the best high school football?
in National High School Football Forum

Just because you produce more NFL talent doesn't mean FL HS football is better. I'll give you IMG in terms of facilities, but I know, I know, FL doesn't claim IMG since no one from FL can beat IMG. And coaching? Please. CA's best coaches are the best in the nation, hands down. In terms of the religion thing, that's TX, not FL.
