I see a California(Oak Ridge) team is coming to Chattanooga to play McCallie. I hope that's El Dorado Hills,CA Oak Ridge. Interesting game if it is.

Interesting, indeed, if true.  Not sure that Oak Ridge has ever traveled anything close to that far.  That's kind of odd in and of itself; would think they'd start closer to home if they want to start traveling.  San Joaquin Section kids are usually tough as nails, but not sure how much talent they have.

LOL Love this post from IMG! #playthebest

It’s easy to talk tough when you know the other guy isn’t allowed to fight you.  This is a win-win for IMG, though.  Play the two top dogs and they probably lose, but not being allowed to play them and of course now they woulda, coulda won.

But I don’t think they will put up the numbers of Amon Ra and Bru McCoy since they don’t have a JT Daniels throwing to them.

I still can’t believe we’ll be starting our lowest-rated QB in 10 SEASONS, and that a slew of 4- and 5-stars weren’t lining up to take over for EB.

interesting..I was told by my source that he was glad they are playing IMG & not Duncanville. There was a lot of respect for the physicality of the Texas teams and he was worried about injuries to start the season. He said they feel they can hang with IMG. The belief was a Duncanville game could have had similarities to the Chaminade game. Not as quick or athletic but definitely a very well rounded & coached team that was a lot more physical.

    DV well-coached? 🤣

I'm not doubting the education of the school, what I'm saying they are no different than a IMG. IMG educational system is just impressive. They are just up front about what they are doing. Remember they started out as a tennis academy many years ago. Just added other sports in the last 10 years. The only different I see is that they recruit student nation wide.  other recruit locally and state wide. facts.

You do know the vast majority of MD’s students are not elite athletes, don’t you? EVERY. SINGLE. IMG. STUDENT. is there for its athletics.  There’s a HUGE difference.

Correct. In the past two seasons Norland FL has canceled on both SJB and IMG without telling them. Cowards.

And fellow cowards, BG.  Nice, conveeeeeeeenient excuse to duck MD as their only hope for a minority share of the Natty last season. Gawd I hope MD embarrasses them IF they actually show.

Except Bosco O had over 400 total yards vs SFA and MD had 188

You already pointed that out.  I’m talking about MD’s D, and no one has figured them out.  And MD’s O has always been able to put points on the board vs Bosco.  A team that graduated 30 seniors from last year’s team that lost to MD by 10 and squeaked out a 2 pt W.

I believe this game will be close too.

SJB shit the bed in Hi.  MD handled same team playing at home

MD shit bed vs SFA - Meanwhile SJB handled same team playing at home.

MD could easily be sitting here with 1 loss just like SJB!

SJB had 438 yards offense vs SFA - Meanwhile MD had 188 yards vs SFA

All true, which is why we agree.  All things being considered, I think MD’s D puts them over the top.  That’s the one thing that’s been consistently better than Bosco's.  While MD’s O sputtered vs SFA, MD’s D did far better vs SFA’s O in BMore than Bosco did at home; not to mention the difference in the two teams’ D vs Kahuku.  On paper, MD’s OL talent is much better than Bosco’s, but they haven’t been as dominant as many had expected.  If they do gel tomorrow, though, and live up to their potential, that could be the difference btw a tight game and a 2-3 score MD win.

And let’s not forget the chip on MD’s shoulder after last year’s championship.  I think MD wants this more.

honestly, its laughable to hear you act like it is coaching and execution.  It's 30 D1 players stacked on 1 team. Jesus dude that makes the coaching look so much better.

Look at SJB - is it the players or the coaching holding them back this year?

MD and SJB were just another team that at best was on the level just below DLS only few season ago and DLS was steady getting that ass kicked OOS.  The only thing that has changed is the emphasis on recruiting more and better players!!!

What's laughable is you deflecting and completely ignoring the argument that MD is 5-0 against three of the other four equally talented teams, and 7-3 against the other one the past six seasons.  Yes, genius, coaching and execution really is the answer when you have that lopsided a record (12-3) when the playing field is level, and MD's past performance is a strong argument for them doing equally as well against a similar collection of talent from any state, even the bubble you live in (TX).

As for SJB, you know as well as I do that QB is the last place you want to have a talent deficit; its impact is exponentially bigger than any other position's.  Sanchez is the 127th best QB in his class.  127th!  Rosen was the #1 QB in his sr class.  DJ was #2.  Houser was #12.  Clarkson #23.  Hell, even Re-Al was the #29 dual threat.  Yes, Sanchez has had his moments, but kid never started before this season and relies on a young OL.  Not trying at all to pile on the kid, but no way SJB loses to Kahuku if ANY of their QBs of the last 10 yrs are under center.  Even stellar coaching like SJB's can only overcome so much when it comes to such a deficit at QB.

Hell you don’t even know if Mater Dei or SJB would be better than a team from Houston or Dallas who stacked 30 transfers onto one team. Imagine if that happened.

And you don't know, either.  What we do know is that MD is 5-0 against three of the four most-recruited up teams in the nation and 7-3 since 2017 against the remaining one.  I think MD would do just fine against any TX super team.  The bottom line is any two super teams playing one another only have 11 guys on the field at one time.  Can't overstate the importance of coaching and execution, and MD and SJB have that over all other programs right now.

Keep telling yourself that’s all there is to it.

    Who is paying tuition?

    how is transportation being handled?
    What are the boundaries?
What changed - MD went from handful of D1 kids each year historically- to the roster today that has 30+kids with D1 offers.

Kids transferring in for Sr. Year only to transfer back out after Christmas break.

With all due respect it’s really not about the strips anymore!

Who's paying tuition?  For who?  For those who can afford it?  Like Bryce?  Like Amon-Ra?  Like CJ?  Or a long list of other guys?  For those guys?  Um, nobody.  Are some football players receiving tuition assistance?  Undoubtedly.   If they meet the stringently monitored criteria for tuition assistance.   Just like lots of the students I went to school with at MD who didn't play sports.  If they prove they qualify for assistance, they can receive it.  If they can't, they don't.

How is transportation being handled?  Who cares?  How do kids from Crenshaw get all the way to Westchester to play hoops?  Because LAUSD allows it, the district finds a way to get them there.  Because there's absolutely nothing prohibiting private schools from providing transportation, MD gets them there.

What are the boundaries for private schools like MD?  Did you really ask that question?

Ooh, the "infamous" Dollars and Criddell situation!  Never happened before, and hasn't happened since.

And yes, the three stripes matter just as much as they always have.  Not sure what the hell strips have to do with anything, though.

Such grasping at straws.  Why do I bother?

All privates in America offer need-based financial aid, which allows entry to all comers!

Indeed.  FAR MORE "regular" (for lack of a better word) students at MD get financial aid than football and hoops players.  MD is in a very under-served, largely Catholic neighborhood and lots of kids attend MD whose families can't afford it themselves.

I've been saying the exact same thing for about 4 years now.   If Texas played by the same BS policies and rules as California or even a few other States.   There would be 15 Super-Power teams across the State each year loaded with over 30+ D1 kids.

    Houston would have 4-5 teams

    Dallas would have 4-5 teams

    San Antonio have 2 teams

    Austin would have 2 teams

East Texas would have 1 teams

Golden-Triangle/SE TX area would have 1 teams

HELL, even the Lubbock Region could probably put together a scrappy team loaded with some top end talent.

I mean look at the teams around Allen, TX (Allen HS, Lovejoy, Melissa, McKinney) and you could have a Power-house loaded with D1 talent

HELL, just look at Conroe (Woodlands, Oak Ridge, Willis, Conroe High, College Park).

    Katy..

    Pearland, Manvel region

    Fort Bend Co... LOL

This idiots like the blowhard complete TOOL of a clown from New Jersey have not F'N clue.

Damn, that's a helluva lot of time you spent pulling together all that info. 😆  Just do it then.  Tell your governing body to change its rules.  Tell your governing body you're sick and tired of CA coming in and kicking your asses.  Tell them you want the freedom for players to go where they want.  (Well, to be clear, "more" freedom, cuz come on now, TX kids can go where they want already if they try hard enough (shhhhh!!!))  Until you make that effort, just stop bitching and deal with it.

And guess what?  Just bc it's easier for kids to move around doesn't mean any TX teams would necessarily be better than MD or SJB.  Those two regularly kick the crap out of the other private schools in the area and the publics who get even more transfers than they do (well, than MD does - Jason is definitely the king of transfers), like Los Al.  The coaching at MD and SJB is second to none and I wouldn't be surprised at all if those two would continue to beat anyone in TX, regardless of who the TX teams' players are.  Superior coaching equals Cen10 coming within a point of beating IMG, MD beating IMG, MC beating IMG, MD beating SFA in '19, etc.

MC took over in the second half.  I did not see that coming with the way their O was playing in the first half.  MC's traditionally stout D was the difference.  Family friend, LB Lawson Collins, only a soph, is one to keep an eye on.

Cen10 still a 62 pt underdog according to Calpreps 😂

Which is completely ridiculous.  I mean, it's not like they're playing '17 BC!  😂  Seriously, it's kinda scary how close CalPreps often comes, but 62 pts over Cen10 is ridiculous.  It would have to be Servite for MD to rub it in like that.  Even if MD were up 30+ in Q4, they'd absolutely call off the dogs.  MD 42-14/42-21 is more like it, imo.
