  1. SJP ranked 7. Maybe top 15 is more realistic. They beat Bosco 28-7. I don’t think SJP would say we’re not in the top 200 or so.
  2. No way. In the years they went to MetLife, definitely top 100. this year top 300, maybe 400 but Joes sucks. And that’s the takeaway.
  3. How bad are we? And Joes is supposed to be one of our good teams.
  4. Listen, their backup will play in college too. If they were any good, they would beat a small LAX school 3 losses. Enough is enough. Another year of them in the stands at MetLife.
  5. Who kept harping on pick 6s? what’s going on in Montvale? let’s deconstruct them. Whose fault? Get rid of the coach? The QB? they try so hard and never seem to get anywhere.
  6. How bad is Joes, nationally speaking, to be in a close one with a 100-kid-per-class, $40k-a-year, wrestling/hockey/LAX school?
  7. Not huge enough. The ball tipped off Mays’s hands for a pick 6. Life in the ‘90s.
  8. We’re not showing. We’re protesting how bad we are.
  9. I remember. BC seems to be the best and most consistent
  10. Maybe Delbarton isn’t so bad. Which means DePaul might not be terrible. which means the Big 3 are not top 50
  11. I don’t know what to make of it. 27 unanswered points. That’s good. weak secondary. Bad. DePaul scores on 2 turnovers. The last one was off Mays’s hands into that LB’s who runs 60 yds to score. the WR who comes down with the 2-point conversion is a 3* or 4* with 4 offers from colleges now ranked in top 25, including Ohio State they're not good. They definitely can lose DePaul Delbarton and Pope. I agree there.
  12. Was Lester out last night? I think he was. Just curious
  13. I had just woken up. 2 NyQuil allergy pills. I’m still sleepy. that was a great DL. His strip of the QB ended the drive and game. very good players all over the field.
  14. I know Bosco went to the finals 3 out of the last 4 years, and should easily have beat SPP that year if Kyle M and their QB Jake Tarantino weren’t out or knocked out early in the game but the trend over 11 years is steadily down. They don’t have the kids to compete. And 2 or 3 of their best this yr transferred out before and during. their D last year was the worst in my 25 years of watching them i hope it ends early for selfish reasons.
  15. No it’s bad now. I checked the roster for McKoy’s team and his stats. So much better a team. Simon, LB, and Kleinberg on the DL. All FBS-offered. Simon played at Iowa, as you know, and Kyle at Syracuse we still had Ellison and Stevens Syracuse and Rutgers. Davon one of the best, toughest kids I watched the O line was 1 year away from being the best in NJ bakker was the RB. Not Hanks Wes was 36 out of 72. 5 TDs, 5 ints. 582 passing yds. 369 rushing yds. Soph devito had no time basically, got in 2 games. We lost our last game to Joes 10-6. It was a nonplayoff because the week before we lost to PC in semis by 1 point. Wes was moved to WR after the half.
  16. Separately I thought of you as I was driving home. I remembered the Grim Reaper, one of my favorites. It’s been a pleasure to see some good kids and games. Those years and games right after Peppers left saw some real battles. That slight DE could play.
  17. No. McCoy was bad. You had to keep him to 6 throws a game. And they did. But he could move. Very hard to sack. And he didn’t lose games except if you blame him indirectly for no production. But he didn’t throw more than 6-8 times a game. STA had negative 1 yards rushing at the half. That why we won. 2 times we got the ball inside their 10 due to a fumble or special-teams play. We ran it in. Hanks was a beast. McCoy was a very good WR. He left as a Jr and came back as a Sr with conditions. He was never benched until the last game against Joes at home. I saw him play every game. Those were his stats for the season. 6 TDs or whatever. He didn’t make dumb plays but he couldn’t make good plays either. He was awful that final Joes game at Bosco at night. DeVito as a sophomore finally came in, and Bosco started a come back. Wes struck again. He stopped a perfect bullet in his chest and hands in the end zone. he was someone we just nicely want to forget.
  18. You might be right. This QB is underwhelming. He’s just there. but I don’t think this team is any good, which I guess is why I didn’t focus on how below average he is. that pick 6 hit a receiver’s hands 1st. Not catchable but a deflection
  19. Can you expand, meaning do you think Bosco is better than depaul? I thought DePaul was a big bigger and faster. Bosco’s secondary wasn’t great and after that 3* transferred to DePaul last week, it got worse. The secondary ultimately lost the game giving up the 50-yard TD and then tge 25-yard 2-point conversion james was running up the middle for at least 5 yards a pop. The DL wasn’t great there we’re a few WR drops. And the QB was average or a bit worse. Definitely not worse than J Batts or Wes McCoy. But definitely not great. He fits in perfectly with a not-great team wasn’t the pick 6 off the receiver’s hands? im not sticking up for the QB—he’s average at best—but the rest were average at best too. I heard lamorte wasn’t doing well in a bad league. but I trust your take
  20. DePaul need like 20-30 yards for their 2-point conversion and got it. they earned it when it counted. kids
