14 St Paul kids got scholarships to get them to come to Joes. Except for 1 or so, usually all go to Bosco.

Very nice. in all seriousness, the Matchmaker should have the CBS gig. The kid was nice but I felt no gravitas. Too innocent. The Matchmaker wreaks. You walk away feeling a bit dirty but also feeling as if the joke’s on you. The Matchmaker brings history and excitement. As if big things are at stake. He’s a bridge to the beginning, and yet you know that bridge tolls are out of the world and bridges can head nowhere. This kid leaves no impression—lightness personified. The Matchmaker is heavy and memorable. What is this world coming to?

I won’t rest easy till I see some matchmakers and their images on the top 25, at least. the NCAA hogged it all up, as Erik Cartman so aptly pointed out. Now it’s time to see a little trickle-down economics for the rest of us. Screw the whales; let’s save the matchmakers. More bank is yet to come

You nailed it. But I think Bosco teams the last 4 yrs were better than this one. Willis is a true 4*. That will give them problems.

My guess is that Joes will do well. I’ve been joking about Erasmus Bosco’s D is better. Not great. Better. Jordan is no Darius, no AQM, no Strizak, no Bryan Murphy, no Trateau. that LB is good. LL is good. The younger guys got better. Ramos. So, the D had to get better as they got a year under their belts the O is not nearly as solid as last year’s. But Bush is good. The backup is nice. The QB is learning the playbook but you can see why Bosco took him so late. The OL is so young, but they will be very very good—just not next week. Mays is good. That Frosh looks like an eventual P5 recruit. very impressed for such a young team given that Bosco doesn’t get the top recruits

May we put people in tiers? I’m thinking, if you can’t put SFA in the dungeon, maybe put GSB there for a week or so.

Everyone knows Tx and Fla have the best football. They’re trying to get your goat. If Don Bosco has 8 AAs spread out over 3 classes as they did in ‘11, they’ll win big games. Everyone sees it for what it is. It was the other years in which they really accompanied some things. I watched some of the Tx playoffs last year, those teams were top-10 teams. Weren’t 8 or so teams top 25?
