Yes, was just too costly for SJP given the stipend that was being offered.

When you said there was a 75% chance of it happening, was the stipend known at that point?

It’s best not to communicate games until contracts are signed. Otherwise this is just a rumor and gossip board which I don’t think you want to be.

Doesn't make sense that they'd bend the rules for a 3* QB from AZ.

It’s Chaparral in Temecula which is relatively local. Multiple Temecula kids attend MD, and not just athletes.
There are no official rules against a senior transfer. It’s just a terrible look and creates justified resentment. I’d rather not see it happen. That’s why I’m hoping he would get beat out for the position if he does transfer. Kid is better off staying where he is now, and it would be better for MD also.

I thought MD didn't accept senior xfers??

    @Bodysurf

We have turned down numerous senior transfers over the past several years. Some great players too. This doesn’t go over very well with a lot of us. I don’t know if this transfer is confirmed. It would be great if the kid ends up riding the bench. Karma. I hate to see this crap.

It didn't. I have a signed contract with with cancellation fees that would choke a horse. #Flo

Can you actually enforce that and do most contracts have cancellation fees? Contracts to play in high school football mean nothing as far as I am concerned. Looks like Bingham is breaking their contract with us. I highly doubt there will be any repercussions. It seems like a ‘contract’ in high school football is nothing more than a handshake and carries absolutely no legal weight.

is there an abbreviation guide for your message board?  those of us who want to know more about HSFB around the country have no idea what HS you are referring to outside of the repeat offenders.  that or typing the actual HS name might make this board easier to use (and feel welcoming).

lol. I was wondering on a couple also.

What gets me is when teams release their schedule and all they show is the mascot or school logo of their opponents without even providing the school name. 🤷‍♂️

You two are definitely in the minority here and the national rankings prove it.

National rankings prove that SOS matters. That is all that matters. Playing OOS has no factor in the SOS determination. MD could have had a better SOS last season if they played Mission Viejo or many other Cali teams instead of Bingham, SFA or Creekside. But in your opinion those for some reason carry more weight because those 3 teams are from a different state. Who cares! OOS wins are only good wins if the team is good. I.e. IMG 2018, SFA 2019, and Gorman 2022 were good OOS wins. But aside from playing elite teams, playing an OOS carries no more significance than any other game.

I know we will never agree.

At season's end DS OOS was 8 points higher than BGs (51 vs 43). BG won three polls (ESPN, MP, USAT). More proof that an elite OOS victory was missing from DS resume.

Gorman has no other option because Nevada sucks. MD does not have to play OOS. Our OOS games actually hurt our SOS. Unless we play somebody like Gorman or STA we are better off playing Sierra Canyon and Mission Viejo in the regular season.

All of us opinion pollsters talk and compare criteria and strategies. And each of us are looking for at least one, elite OOS win on the final resume. Why do you think that DeSoto only won one poll (Massey algorithm) this past season with an undefeated, all-Texas schedule? Going back to the mid-late 2000s almost every consensus MNC had had at least one of these wins. Like it or not it's the new norm now.

Because DeSoto’s overall SOS was weak. It was weak because of the caliber of the Texas teams they played, not because they didn’t play OOS. If the Texas elites scheduled each other in the regular season there would be no issue.

You won consensus MNCs because of those OOS wins. Without them it's impossible to do such then and now.

Not true. Those were not even the best games on our schedule. It’s laughable. We were consensus in 2017 and we beat Gorman and Bergen who were nowhere near as good as Bosco. 2018 when we shared the MNC our best win was Cali. In 2021 we beat Duncanville who was nowhere near Servite, Cen10 and Bosco. This past season when we shared the MNC, 9 out of our best 10 wins were all Cali teams, except for Kahuku which was our 4th best win.

Go back and look at the last time a team won a consensus MNC with an all in-state schedule. And will be very rare going forward.

That is because the best teams now in general look to schedule OOS. For some states they need to play OOS to get a better game. Its irrelevant. Every season MD’s best games have always been against Cali teams. Every season the best teams we play are Bosco, Cen10, Trinity, etc. When we beat SFA, Gorman, Duncanville, IMG those were not better than our best Cali wins.

Much less stress and a pension at Cen10. He mostly likely values his quality of life.

True, the MD job has the pressure of a college coach. His pension was a big factor. He would have been paid in the neighborhood of 7 figures at MD and would have made more money from sponsors. He was very close to taking the job. Closer than most people realize.

Well aware. They have no money to host or travel. Very tough situation to be in. If only they could play IMG.

Logan should have taken the MD job. It was his if he wanted it. The infrastructure and financial resources are worlds apart from Centennial. The MD booster club rivals most universities. He could have played against and traveled to anybody that is willing to schedule us.

    It's what the elites do.

Very true. Although we have very few transfers the last several years. I prefer it this way. I don’t want MD to take any senior transfers especially. MD has no transfers of note yet for next season and hopefully it stays that way.
