SJB top games are vs C-M and MD

BG top games are vs STA and MD

MDs top games are vs SFA and SJB

SFA top games are vs MD, DV and IMG

The above team that goes undefeated with most likely be the 2024 MNC. If all those teams have one loss and IMG, C-M and STA go undefeated, then they're also in the mix.

MD's top games are BG and Bosco. No way is SFA bigger than Gorman.  I would even argue that our game at Kahuku is bigger than SFA. Even if SFA is higher ranked than Kahuku, beating Kahuku in Hawaii would be more of a statement given the challenge that other OOS teams have had there in the past few years.

  2. What do these top players have to gain by participating? In the case of Marcus Harris (which I have not heard anything from MD folks about him doing this), he has offers from everybody and can pick his school. By playing in this league, he is only exposing himself to an increased chance of injury. I see this as an unnecessary risk for a kid such as this.

But I can see kids that have yet to receive offers doing this an opportunity for recruiters to get more looks at them.

What happened to Leinart's kid?   This was supossed to be his team wasn't it?

    He transferred to Newport Harbor.
That was the prevailing thought, but not the reality. The current Freshman were better, especially Inferrera, and he probably saw the writing on the wall. Cole Leinart never played tackle football prior to high school either. He also had the unfair expectations given that his father is MD football royalty. He is going to do well at Newport, and he will excel for them in hoops also.

I still can’t believe we’ll be starting our lowest-rated QB in 10 SEASONS, and that a slew of 4- and 5-stars weren’t lining up to take over for EB.

Fingers crossed that Bash Beierly pans out. I was skeptical at first but I have heard good things and he has apparently played very well at national camps. Now I am cautiously optimistic. Inferrera has also shown out well. We should be just fine. IMO the single most important thing is that Jordan Davison stays healthy for the whole season. He is the key to the offense as I have no idea who we have to back him up.

  5. Current freshman stud TE. Next year will be, on paper, the best group of MD pass catchers ever with two 5-star receivers, a 4-star receiver, and this TE. But I don’t think they will put up the numbers of Amon Ra and Bru McCoy since they don’t have a JT Daniels throwing to them.

Are you aware that MD is still seeking an opponent on 8/30??

That is because Bingham broke their contract. It would be nice if somebody in Cali would step up to the plate and play us in nonleague besides Cen10. We already have 3 OOS games.

The fact that they squandered so many great OOS opptys next season tells me that they're not yet ready for Prime Time.

They didn’t squander anything. According to you, SJP wanted more money. Was Cen10 offered the opportunity to play anybody for free anywhere? Cen10 never has, and never will, have the money to travel OOS on a plane.

Gotta BEAT the best to be the best. Not gotta play the best to be the best. If the latter were true SFA would've won the Natty last season!

Like I said, I agree. Cen10 needs to beat the best. My point was is that they already play the best. Now all they have to do is actually win!

Nine years ago was a loooooong time ago. The modern-era of HSFB is now upon us and here to stay. Gotta beat the best to be the best.

Agreed. Cen10 is already playing the best. Fortunately they don’t need to travel OOS to do so.

Beating an in state team ranked 25th in the country is more impressive than beating the national 75th ranked OOS team.

Im just using that as an example. Beating a higher ranked in state team is more impressive than lower ranked OOS

    100%

Who cares whom their best OOS is. All that matters is who are the best teams they have beat. They won CIF SS big boy championships in 2014 and 2015. They have beaten most of the best teams in Cali, including MD, SJB, and DLS back when they were nationally elite. Cen10 has no need to, nor has the ability to, raise money to travel the country to play teams when there are plenty of good teams to play in Cali.

No need to get testy. Healthy debate is good.

Losing to MD and SJB each season is not the formula for rankings success.

You said above that if Cen10 beats MD and Bosco they still would not be top 5 because they don’t play an elite OOS team. That is clown speak.

Some could say MD and Bosco are basically sports academies with the way they operate on and off the field. No such public school is beating them anytime soon.

I disagree. I attended MD and to say it is not a serious academic school is a joke and insulting. Although the school excels in athletics, it is a far cry from the sports academies.

DBP beat IMG in basketball earlier this season. No team in any high school sport in America is invincible.

Not arguing that point. Just saying that Cali wants to do whatever they can to discourage sports academies from being created. The least they can do is make it hard for them to play local teams.

  14. I agree with all above. The CIF's rule goes way beyond IMG, but people on this board make it sound like IMG was the reason. This rule has more to do with other sports such as basketball. The ulterior motive of the CIF was to prevent 'schools' like Findley Academy or Blair Academy from opening in Cali. Not sure how successful it has been. Prolific Prep is a relatively new basketball program that is elite at the national level fort academies. But they can't play any regular games against Cali schools.

Yes, was just too costly for SJP given the stipend that was being offered.

When you said there was a 75% chance of it happening, was the stipend known at that point?

It’s best not to communicate games until contracts are signed. Otherwise this is just a rumor and gossip board which I don’t think you want to be.
