In terms of the Florida teams Pine Forest is way too high, only win so far this year is over a Niceville team that barely escaped 3-5 Chiles and 3-4 Crestview

If your looking for a Florida team to replace them I would recommend TCA, Orlando Jones or Sanford Seminole

I also would keep an eye on Buchholz vs Bartram Trail this week, both are undefeated. Buchholz schedule is okay and same with Bartram but Buchholz is coming off a 12-2 season and considering I saw them play last year and this year they look to be as good as the team a year ago but Bartram Trail has looked better against a few common opponents this year and I actually put Bartram Trail one spot ahead of Buchholz heading into the week as I could see a potential for Bartram Trail to win that game and the district title

Tracking them all, and you are correct in your concern with Pine Forest.   The schedule is not loaded with the exception of Niceville, but it is the Florida panhandle after all where there is not a lot of competition.    Shame that they don't venture into Alabama for some games.

The biggest problem with Pine Forest and those panhandle teams typically is when they play a panhandle only schedule their SOS is reliant on how good the panhandle is that particular season and it typically is one of the weakest areas in Florida

Why is that?  As a CA fan, I'm ignorant, but curious, as everyone seems to agree on that.

There were 2 major factors that allowed the panhandle to get so good in the 70s and 80s which led to several teams having sustained runs of success and even into early to mid 90s and that was the way teams back then played based on running game and big offensive lines which Is where the teams from Tallahassee to Pensacola thrived on

The other factor was before the open transfer movement statewide the zoning were strict but because of there being several military bases out in that region families would get moved and stationed out there so it was a long-term exception to the strict player movement

But as the game moved to spread offenses you started seeing metro areas get better as speed became the priority which is not the strong suit

So basically the game changed and the panhandle fell behind the Jacksonville and SFL areas and Orlando Tampa ect

I see Cajun chump on the other site whining about Tampa Bay Tech inclusion yet was trying to say that Tallahassee Lincoln was a "good" team

Some people should really leave Florida to the experts and shut their mouths

Btw Lincoln just lost by double digits to sub .500 Rickards last Friday and likely cost themselves the district championship
