During this timeframe the avg SOS is a paultry 35.0. The state's best OOS win came vs #267 GC in 2021. Quote

Not trying to prop up LA or anything, but, in defense of BRC Good Counsel was really closer to the top 100 than #267. CP’s rankings are always way off….. Quote

Nolebull813 Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Louisiana has great individual talent, but the overall teams have been lacking for quite some time. There is a reason that Louisiana barely plays top OOS teams. The past results have been downright ugly. That’s why when a ton of their top teams through the years play an OOS game, it’s usually a team no one has ever heard of. A cream puff that was scheduled as an automatic win. Quote
Nolebull813 Posted August 11, 2022 Posted August 11, 2022 Catholic vs Good Counsel was a good matchup when it was scheduled. But it lost some luster when GC lost 5 games including a 50-7 loss to St Frances. This year should be a better game. But this is the only team in recent memory that played a national name brand team. This year Louisiana only has 2 OOS games where you have heard of the opponents. Desoto TX and GC. And both will be losses. And if they are, who is the next best OOS team they play? Oak Grove MS? Lol. That’s not even a guaranteed win. That’s how irrelevant Louisiana has made themselves. Quote

John Curtis has been finding the most down trodden teams to play for decades. Besides Lake Placid, one of the lowest times was when he played Choctaw FL back in the mid 2000’s. They went 1-9 and 2-8 the years Curtis played them and Curtis won state both years. Funny thing was when Choctaw went 2-8, they played Curtis to a 27-21 squeaker where Choctaw should have won. 2-8 Florida panhandle teams are on par with the top Louisiana state champions 1 Quote
