The VERY major flaw in GSB's poll is that it is MUCH more difficult for SJB or MD to end up #1

SJB and MD must beat each other TWICE plus seek out and win a Marquee OOS (State Champ) opponent.   They also have to win the max preps rated toughest playoff division in America

SFA and IMG ONLY need to beat (1) middle of the road OOS state champ, and run a midling schedule of 9 teams with no playoffs to worry about.

This would be equal to DV and NS playing each other twice and then winning 6A

100%

another way to look at it…… If teams A and B are the two best teams, and team B beats team A, that does not mean team C is better than team A.

MD and Bosco get punished in the national rankings for having to play each other.

Simple fix. They need to start scheduling IMG.

SFA scheduled the following teams this season: MD, SJB, IMG, C-M, Buford. If they ran that schedule, they would've finished a unanimous #1. That didn't happen. And that's fine. Nobody thought it would.

IMG finished undefeated beating three State Champs, including #6 SJP. No other team in America can stake that claim. They also finished with the highest SOS of any undefeated team in America.

Our MNC Criteria will always be published publicly for all to see. There should never be any surprises with our #1 at season's end.

Why aren't you giving Massey shit? Go look at his Top 5 and MNC. He deserves way more scrutiny than yours truly!

We can’t play IMG so please stop saying this.

IMG is not all that earlier. They are not as good as they were before. They still are the best collection of individual talent, but they are not the best team. When I watch them play their offensive schemes and precision is nowhere near the top teams.

Who, IMG? This season they won your poll but not the other 8 polls. They won the Covid year but even that wasn't unanimous. MD can even claim a MNC in the Covid shortened season but we don’t. If we did it would 3 out of the last 4 seasons. But I only feel good about the unanimous MNC in 2021. This season is tainted for us by the first loss to Bosco.

Reminder that three pollsters (ESPN, SBLive, USAT) had SJP ranked higher than SJB in their final rankings. Discounting (and avoiding) IMG is not a smart decision. It doesn’t bother you that the CIF is only the state association in America that doesn’t permit its high school teams to maximize their potential in such a way?

The majority of high school football fans believe that a MNC should be undefeated.

Strength of schedule needs to be heavily factored in MNC and playing 1-2 teams outside the National Top 15-20 doesn't satisfy vs a team who strength of schedule is obvious (3 teams inside the Top of 15, 2 teams inside the top 30).  This year, Both IMG and Gorman SOS was the weakest its been. When SOS is so glaring obvious, I think there's an exception for a team having one loss vs being undefeated with a lacking SOS. This isn't always the case, but this year it was and it should have had consideration.

MD lost to a 2-loss SJB. Several polls had SJP (IMGs best win) ranked higher than SJB at season's end. We utilize a SOS of 40 or higher as our baseline, which is very respectable. Based on our criteria, C-M was the only undefeated team adversely affected.
