  1. Unfortunately, I think they’ll face a similar problem with NS except NS is much bigger than DS on the DL. But that’s 7 weeks away still. DV has time to address their issues. But giving up 42 points on defense isn’t going to get it done v north shore. Not with their QB back
  2. I’m not emphasizing he only had 3 carries in the 2d, but that it ONLY yielded 4 yards! What caused that? Regardless, they won’t get 10x games to play this out, they had the 1 and DV didn’t deliver. they’ll play again next year, we’ll see if DV can pull it out.
  3. The stats still don’t lie. Durham still only had 3 Carrie’s for 4 yards in the 2d half. Mathis took the opportunity on the fake punt and it paid off. (Of course he wanted to go up 21 points)DS made them one dimensional going up big. And somehow you think that’s a fluke outcome?
  4. They did several times in the red zone. If they didn’t stop them then why did Durham only have 3 carries in the 2d half for 4 yards? What stopped him? Hell, that’s not even getting past the LOS on avg. Like I said, a healthy DS, and Durham and co. would rarely see the field DV just needs to regroup, work on some things and get ready for NS. This one is done.
  5. You explained in a lot of words him taking adv of the opportunity. Lol of course he wanted to go up 21. His mentality is different from samples, he’s going to take more risks and stick the dagger in a team. He was successful!
  6. The quality, speed and size of the RB is definitely a factor. They probably never would have punted with riden and trawick in the game. The fake punt didn’t lose the game and wouldn’t have been needed. The secondary getting torched right out the gate did. Having sloppy STs did. Those weren’t flukes. DS scored 14 points and only ran 1 offensive play. And it was the same kid, and their best athlete. Why the hell kick it to him to begin with? Because DV didn’t focus on details like that.
  7. Once again, DS won last night with a 3d and 4th string RBs…DECISIVELY! That’s a glaring fact that can’t be overlooked when we talk hypothetical rematches. Mathis ran for it b/c DV wasn’t looking for it. the opportunity was there and they took it. Easy conversion. DV offense wasn’t some great threat last night scoring at will. If DV OL was so dominant why didn’t they just give it to Durham and him go off for 250-300 yards like last year?
  8. They’ve been having penalty issues all year long. But you wanna know why those happened? They weren’t use to trailing in the 3d by 14. the pressure got to them. Durham didn’t go off like they thought so they panicked like they did in ‘21 v NS in the title game when NS took the lead 17-10.
  9. Well they dominated both lines, easily. Durham ran for a ridiculous 309 yards last year. Yesterday in the 2d half he had 3 carries for 4 yards. (His total yards from last year were cut in half.) DS made great strides improving their OL/DLs. their OL bullied DV, Bailey had lots of time to complete passes and the run game was just as effective. The main reason the O put up 42 pts. if Riden played they would have controlled the clock n ran it down DV throat, limiting DVs possessions. It would have been a 38-24 type game
  10. Neither team scored in the 3d. If DV was doing all the bullying they would have ran it down their throats in the 3d already trailing by 14 Everyone knows the RB is their bread n butter. i watched both games from this year n last. What’s the main difference from last year?
  11. Desoto didn’t get whipped up front. Hell, they held DV to 28 with about 3 min left. By that time it was a 21 point lead. They gave up 2 long TD runs to Durham, outside of that they held them consistently and in the red zone. that’s why DV passed more than usual b/c they weren’t moving it consistently on the ground. Russell attempted 42 passes yesterday. Way out of character for them.
  12. With both teams fully healthy I’m not sure the results wouldn’t be the same. DV use to be able to bully DS upfront, they can’t anymore on either side. (I thought DV would have the adv on the OL but even that wasn’t won consistently)
  13. 👇🏿. This you? Yes, DV got whipped. Thats the issue last night.
  14. He played but was injured. That’s why he wasn’t as explosive. He sat out last week with an ankle injury.
  15. DV secondary couldn’t stop their pass game either. The issue for DV was they lost in the trenches on both sides. Doesn’t matter how many times you play, if you can’t win up front it lessens your chances btw, Desoto was missing BOTH of their top 2 RBs, one of them 4**** deondre Riden. They did all that damage on the ground with 3d and 4th string RBs. Desoto is simply better THIS year. (I think it’s the opposite, they play 10x DS wins 6-4)
  16. Desoto was bigger, stronger and faster and played with more energy. It’s that simple. DV will refocus (get Simmons back fully healthy) and get ready to eventually meet north shore. They’ll be fine
  17. The 26/27th of this month will be big in Texas. Several teams playing each other for district title: North shore v Cita DV v DS SLC v B Nelson Willis v Woodlands
  18. You’re just talking out the side of your neck now. Texas bubble teams outside their top 25 will never be the nations baseline for bad teams. That would be places like NY, PA, Conn, Del, Maine, etc
  19. No they don’t value highly a team thats 2-4 and got blown out by CBC MO and lost to Baylor TN Atascocita will need an opponent next year, get Lipscomb on the schedule then we can see for ourselves
  20. Get on it then mr scheduling “guru”! Lol that would be a perfect game for Atascocita since you don’t think they’re T25.
  21. No they wouldn’t. They couldn’t beat SOC. PROJECT A MATCHUP neutral field [2023] South Oak Cliff (Dallas, TX) 35 (81%), [2023] Lipscomb Academy (Nashville, TN) 21 (19%)
