GA HSFB GOTW: Cedar Grove at Mill Creek
1. (1) Cedar Grove (3-0)Last week: Beat Collins Hill 40-6. Cedar Grove held defending 7A champion Collins Hill to 46 yards rushing and 46 passing. Top offensive performers were Devin Carter (six receptions, 84 yards, one touchdown) and Demarcus Smith (seven rushes, 72 yards, two touchdowns). Next: Friday at Mill Creek (3-0)If Georgia was an open enrollment state like Arizona, Cedar Grove would have a lot of problems filling out the schedule. I'd love to see CG operate like the Arizona team BC smacked around. The amount of of talent south of I-20 is impressive.

Who are these guys?
A program that is an elite coach away from being...elite.

That's an ass kicking.

Can't use the weather for an excuse. Creekside has a Berry at quarterback. And there will always be enough athletes strolling the halls to have with a little coaching, a decent football team. Creekside has a bunch of big fast players in the trenches. Their losses were to a couple of good squads. SFA probably underestimated ESL, and ESL more than likely underestimated Creekside.

Also, remember when BC visited Grayson.....
If Cen10 gets blown out on Friday night, their public prowess may be teetering going fwd.
I certainly do. The Grayson player revolt didn't help. But then again elite teams usually don't react that way. As an aside, Banda, and several of the 2018 Grayson players' names were stricken from UGA's big board. Before BC came to town and smacked Grayson. Kirby doesn't go for those type of players.

Miami Publics were a missed FG away from being 3-0 vs BG. Just sayin.
And Armwood-Seffner came back from Vegas with the W. Minus the usual home cooking teams invariably face in most of these OOS matchups, and a couple of untimely turnovers, Armwood would have thumped the Bishop.

Can't see them beating most of the top Power Privates.
Of course not. Nor the Chandlers, Mission Viejo’s, and some others. For any school public or private to compete favorably against the current crop of Power Privates would take a lot of money. And a state regulatory organization that doesn't meddle in such affairs. I would love to see a Marist, and a couple of other squads with a footprint from Carrollton to Covington, and from Calhoun to Peachtree City, each annually corralling 10-12 of Greater Atlanta's best players. I hope to live long enough to see the GHSA and the PE teachers down in South Georgia masquerading as coaches regulated to the bush league.

Maybe Buford
Not enough creativity on offense IMO. And depth would catch up with Buford against some of the larger public schools. Damn good team, but Buford, like some other Georgia programs have their hands tied by the GHSA. I wish the independent city schools Valdosta, Marietta, and the rest, would, along with the older well-heeled private schools, Marist, Woodward, Benedictine, and a few others, would tell the GHSA to hug a root, join the new GIA, and play it as it lays.

You're correct. According to the AHP coaches, Los Al would win since the Lowndes secondary would have no chance vs Malachi and Lemon.
LosAl did move the ball. Unlike Lowndes, who struggled to reach what was it, 155 yds total offense?
Btw: I received the NHSF shirt. Many thanks, Joe. The shirt will make its public debut Saturday, September 3rd at the Benz. Go Dawgs!

Who did they play from Pa?
Schuylkill Haven. A small, public, Central Pa school and community. It is in Pennsylvania Deutsch country. Just South, off I-78, is Schartlesville where the famous Haag's Hotel operated for decades. Known for great food, better hospitality, cold beer, Yuengling on tap, and served around 33 Fahrenheit. Unfortunately closed but there are similar places in the area.

I'm going with Bosco by something along the lines of 45-14. Allen will come out and play their best. Allen is smoother and better disciplined than a Miami Central or Duncanville. And more than likely better conditioned. And they'll have two game plans. I'm seeing Bosco take complete control before halftime.

Coach Negro is currently in possession of it.
He probably laughed. He knows fake juice. SJB’s been dealing with it since 2013.

Bosco's Earnest Greene, a true freshman, will be seeing the field in Athens this season. This young man enrolled early, hit the ground running, and is drawing raves from the staff. The lovely Savannah Leigh puts it a bit more eloquently. Ironically EG’s Dad is a native of Savannah, GA. Allen's Greg Little’s Dad was an Athens -Clarke Central guy who was a stud. Went to South Carolina. Naturally, UGA wanted GL to come back home. Word is an Allen assistant helped T-A$M close the deal. Two reasons for all DGD’s to hate Allen and hope for Bosco to put a great big old ass whipping on the Eagle squad! Go Bosco! Braves by 27!

Good for Bosco’s players. If anyone takes the time to read how this is going down and still has a problem, then it's likely going old fashioned jealousy.

Former SFA PantherJamon Dumas -Johnson is tearing it up in Athens. Looks to be a lead Dawg for the Dawgs.

That seems to be the common excuse but we have seen Valdosta and Camden County agree to home and home with Florida teams
And they can make up for the revenue by working some deal with the event organizer to get a percentage of the traveling team (their team) gate and some revenue from potential streaming revenue
There are ways they can get money from it but always playing at home comes across as being afraid to get out of their comfort zone whether it's the truth or not
And it's not south Georgia only, I could say the same about several FL teams like Vero Beach and Lakeland as well as Texas teams
Apparently, and you are correct, there are other places where coaches are comfortable with what they have been doing for eons. Even though the kids at some “ name” programs are being short-changed by the short-sightedness of the coach and or school administration.

After all the FL teams who has traveled to South Georgia we need some South Georgia teams to come across the border
They have no reasonable excuse not to do so. There are always more than a few Florida squads with a pulse; a few hours down I-75 and 95. Their excuse is the loss at the gate. I doubt they're scared, as much as posessing a mindset mired in the last century. Beat the neighbors and make the playoffs. Don't worry about giving exposure to your players in high-profile games against other talented teams. Why would any true competitor want to go and do that? Or perhaps many South Georgia coaches are a little timid in these affairs.

Game just finished. AHP- 38 Lowndes 20
I feel better so far what I figured the team would look like has happened. Bad coaching players out of position due to bad coaching. The youngens did there thing. 10th grade QB showed heart and scored all 3 TDs.
We hired a 2a coach with little league plays and that's exactly what it looks like. Ran maybe 7 different plays.
The best part of this one ran down his Mama's leg.

It is Low-ends. I am not surprised in the least . Hoping AH-P slaughters them. Georgia Tech's band does the same thing.

WereEast St Louis or Crenshaw, ranked when NGwinnett defeated them? Crenshaw was the runner-up in California the previous year. And ESL has been talented, though not always loaded for bear.NG’s win over Prattville, and Camden's win over MC was impressive.

Exactly. Let him know...
That is why I posted the add-in clause listing the scholarship recipients from Grayson and the schools where said recipients matriculated. That wasn't an upset. Aside from Davin Cook, Grayson was better at nearly every position. Gallman was better than Yearby IMO. Three-year starter with two National Championship rings.

Brookwood GA 10 at BG 70 Final
in National High School Football Forum
Posted · Edited by JCGIII
I wouldn’t be surprised. Brookwood is David Hunter's baby. He started their program. He’s probably not too happy. He has Robin Hines's ear. And PJ might very well be out. He hasn’t returned Brookwood relevance. And this game won’t make them better.
Given Hunter’s duplicity with regards to transfers, how ironic is it that BW, in what was never going to be a banner year, decides to challenge one of the the best teams in the country, built around transfers. Karma.
I believe he was instrumental, or at minimum an influence in Valdosta getting the hammer over Jake Garcia. The fear that Valdosta was going to go big time, under Propst, maximize their city school system loophole and upend Gwinnett's dominance was I believe real. In that light, the Bishop's embarrassment of Brookwood was a form of just desserts. At least in the opine of a few other programs. And myself.
