  1. If the GHSA will leave Milton and a few other programs alone, Georgia might be on to something…
  2. Thanks to Trey Matthews and Josh Harvey -Clemmons. The Barn was a better, mainly on account of UGA’s backfield being a bunch of true freshmen by that time. And no depth at key positions. Gurley and Marshall were gone by mid-season. Old Nick Marshall sure got a rude homecoming the following year in Athens.
  3. SFA was underrated. As for IMG, about next week, your are probably right. The week after? From my optics the 2024 Ascenders don't appear to play team ball as well as previous editions. IMG takes plays off and is not as consistent over 48 minutes.
  4. That was not an upset. MaxPreps is getting lazier by the year.
  5. The option exists for Texas powerhouses to schedule these teams. Although if past outcomes are relevant, said outcomes may explain the reticence on behalf of Texas coaches to make or take the call. Or sign the dotted line.
  6. And after finally finding ESL a Georgia team they could beat. Barely. I've heard stories from a couple of Chicago guys whose team, Buffalo Grove, ended one of Bob Shannons win streaks.
  7. That one aged well.Sammy's response was very much on the money.
  8. Georgia will be claiming them in a few years. Off-topic Bull, but why is Bishop Kenny so lousy at football? Schools put a couple of rosters worth in major league baseball, more than some in the NBA& NFL. They have some money. Obviously have athletes. But they usually suck. Why?
  9. Pretty good for a public school. I wish Buford put more emphasis on offense. Put them two together and we are looking at MD, SFA some years, SJB, and IMG numbers of D1 prospects. Just need for the GHSA to stay out of the way of progress.
  10. Under Kimrey, the nature of this ancient rivalry will change. The man can flat out coach football. And when the talent is comparable, he'll handle the other coach.
  11. Probably why Cedar Hill disappeared.
  12. Says Phil, who is either lying or doesn't know anything about how the GHSA playoffs are seeded. If you decide to sue Benedictine, make sure that your attorney does not call him to introduce any hearsay evidence. The Harbin System may still take into consideration OOS competition. Faust recognized this and arranged, for the time, some great games. Big Drop can confirm that they went off without a hitch. And minus input from a team of outside consultants.
  13. It depends on how the opportunity is presented. Is it incumbent on the coach to do all of the due diligence concerning their opponents? How far does “leave the details to us” go? Does the promoter level with coaches about the reality of the school he's trying to convince them to play? Is there any hint given as to what type of team and how that team is put together that they are being pimped to play? And their ability to match up. Or are teams not as informed about their opponent and how they match up? Is there a warning, a caveat? If some of these state associations get the drift the promoter has an agenda to collect public school scalps, and continue to match overmatched teams he will find himself on the outside looking in. And client schools being hard-timed by their respective associations.
  14. Every year, we are seeing more public schools up their game and be able to play competitive games with, and are occasionally beating one the power privates. Look for this trend to continue as other schools grow up. Plus the West had a head start in this expanded new version of the game.
