  1. That's enough quality depth. Especially if SFA can rotate between the tackles. A luxury I don't believe Buford has. I hope to be proven wrong. Naturally, I would like to see the Georgia teams play well and win. But I'm not feeling it. A huge downgrade at Valdosta coaching-wise with the new guy. Plus their talent level doesn't seem to be overwhelming. Colquitt is in for 48 minutes of Hell. They might pull it off. But DF won't be intimidated or bothered by the heat and humidity. And Tom Knotts has forgotten more football than the chump in Moultrie.
  2. This weekend is going to be a Big Black Eye for South Georgia. Valdosta is going to wish Propst was still calling the shots. 49-14 Massillon. Colquitt will be out-coached, and aside from a couple of studs, top-to-bottom DF is as good as Moultrie. Probably better on the lines. 35-24 Dutch Fork. If Buford can keep it close for the first half, the Wolves have a slugger's chance of keeping their game competitive. Bufords problem will be having to deal with SFA’s depth. If Buford can prevent St Francis from maximizing their depth. A lot of ifs. SFA 41-21.
  3. Even in their banner years, DLS never had anywhere near the number of studs matriculating at MD and SJB. “ I have no idea how to beat this team.” Bruce Rollinson 2001. He found a way. Since I can't outcoach him, I'll lap him with talent.
  4. Those two put a lot more time and money into roster management. When Texas and Georgia decide to join the 21st century and stack teams with 35-40 players with DIV-1 players it will be interesting to see how they match up. Even the traditionally tough California publics are rarely competitive with the power privates. Once competitive and some years winnable games are now beat downs.
  5. Do you think da Creek can match up with SPP? How good is SPP? Confidence can be like fake juice. Mater Dei will kill them: like the Monarchs will every team not SJB, SFA, IMG, the Bishop, and possibly STA. STA is disappointing these days. In not too distant past, it's likely some of the studs at AHP, Chaminade-Madona, and Cardinal Gibbons, would be matriculating at STA. They're still very good but don't appear as deep or as aggressive as the other four in terms of player acquisition. STA no longer has 5-10 of the top 100 or so Florida prospects as some of the latter-day George Smith squads frequently did.
  6. After the Spring practice, Lawson Luckie just turned in, who can blame him.🤷
  7. Good job. The coach for Creekside has intestinal fortitude.
  8. Lucky for Blake and Meatchickin he didn't have another early January date with UGA and SFA alum Pop Johnson.
  9. Mater Dei, even with a coaching change will beat Buford by whatever they want. Unless Buford finds some offense. In the trenches, Buford starters can probably hold their own. But not for long.Quality depth.Where MD crushes Buford is with depth in the trenches and an offensive scheme the Wolves have no answer for. 63-7 Monarchs.
  10. Like Buford, Gainesville is an independent city school system. It’s going to be interesting to see how far off the reservation they can go before the GHSA gets involved. Given their location, Gainesville could easily bring in a dozen blue chips a year.
  11. Nice postgame interview with SFA’s Jamon “Pop” Dumas-Johnson.
  12. And here is yet another reminder that SFA dented De Soto by 40!🤣
  13. The Bishop could win a four-team tournament consisting of Bosco, MD, SFA, and themselves. The contrarian on the other board would argue and deny till next year that there has occurred a loyalty shift in Broward. STA still has a lot of studs. But not the bluest of the blue chippers these days. AHP, Gibbons, and a few others have diluted their talent. If George Smith, or someone similar running the show, STA would be the dominant paradigm regardless of what others are doing. Because it's likely that the Michals, Surtains, and other studs past and present would have been Raiders.
  14. Central is a completely different team from last year. Nonetheless, SJB has been in my opine, the best all-around team week in and week out. They look more polished than MC or SFA.
  15. Valdosta has been trending down since 1994.Once upon a time... https://www.savannahnow.com/story/news/2009/07/08/best-football-team-ever-71/13731253007/
  16. I love a good old fashioned slobber knocker where the defenses take over the game and points are grudgingly surrendered.
  17. UGA captains today for the Worlds Largest Cocktail Party. #10 JDJ ready to go Junkyard Rabid Dawg!
  18. I would add Odessa -Permian to the list of teams, unlikely to recover their past glory ( there aren't enough high-end players in Ector County for Mojo to annually duel with the Dallas and Houston monsters ).
  19. Imagine the type of monster that Logan could build at let's say a California-styled Buford with his offense.Or any of a number of public schools with both talent and money. A public school with consistent access to talent, and a community willing and able to go first-class in every regard. I'm not ready to crown Rollinson the GOAT. Could he elevate a team like once steady, and often solid Hart-Newhall to household name status? Negro had made San Clememte I believe into a competitive team, but they weren't knocking on the door of greatness. Logan is apparently, very loyal to Centennial. I suspect some other programs have tempted him. Until a few years ago, they could stay on the field with the two alpha dogs. Even win occasionally. In my opinion Logan’s accomplishments at a school with more than 50% of the students living below the poverty line is more impressive.
  20. De La Salle may be the reason for Bosco and Mater Dei going off the reservation. Following a 4th consecutive loss to the Spartans, Rollinson stated “I have no idea how to beat this team.” The only way was to amass so much talent and depth, especially in the trenches, that combined with better than Poly coaching, they could take down DLS. He found a way. Though Negro started the arms race and Rollinson was given the tools to step up their game. I also believe that this play in SoCal was the main reason for CBL’s stepping away as head coach. He knew the school leadership wasn't going to allow him the same parameters. No driving over to Folsom and poaching Jonah and Jake. Yep. DLS is in a way, the victim of their success. Their success led to the creation of the super teams. And changed high school football forever. Even though they are a shell of their former selves, it will always be special to beat the Spartans. They were a catalyst in changing the game.
  21. Go Panthers! Up with the Black and Gold. Down with the White and Blue!
  22. 🤣Does a chicken have lips? Bosco took their foot off the pedal at the half and began subbing the cheerleaders and water boys . 38-7, ( should have been 52-7) vs 14-0. Guyer has a top-shelf quarterback.Though I doubt their line could protect him.The Rose Colored Glasses are bigger in Texas. And the bulls lay bigger turds. California vs Texas argument is over. Aledo, Duncanville, and now Allen. These Texas tough guys actually believe Westlake or North Shore would put MD or Bosco in the pew. They're still wetting themselves over Euless-Trinity beating DLS. Though Della wins that game 9/10. Should have won that one. Texas and Georgia have a couple of things in common. Lots of good teams, and unparalleled arrogance. I've been in Georgia for most of the last 45 years. And have watched some damn good teams on the gridiron. But not, in the last ten years a single team that would have finished better than 3rd in the Trinity League.
  23. Did Eds beat Moeller, or did Moeller beat Moeller?
  24. https://georgiadogs.com/sports/football/roster/jamon-dumas-johnson/ Another SFA player making a difference on and off the field.
