When do the first tiers come out? We will get clarity on MC after this week. If Gorman wins then tier 1 is Bosco, MD, Gorman, IMG. Although IMO there is a gap between the top 3 and IMG, maybe even enough to have only three teams on the top tier. We shall know in a couple days!

This is definitely true for sports besides football. I think club football will not take off like other sports because of the logistics and economics. The kids that ‘need’ club football can’t afford it. Club football was attempted in Cali during Covid and it failed miserably. I can only imagine how bad the coaching will be plus all the support staff and infrastructure required will be lacking.

That’s too much football IMO. I like to see my football players doing track, basketball, or baseball.

Official practice is governed by the CIF and is the same for all schools in terms of permissible dates, number of practices allowed in pads for contact, etc. MD and Bosco had the identical number of practices compared to other Cali schools before their first game.

🤷‍♂️ Bosco was more impressive against STA than IMG was against St. Joes. How can a team beat STA and get lowered? Granted, IMG also had a nice win, but it wasn’t as convincing as Bosco in which the game was not as close as the score.

Lol. I guess we won national championships and titles in the 90s with only 2 D1 recruits. There is a laundry list of kids that played D1 going back many years. And currently there are about 30 D1 kids, not ‘almost 12’.

MD/Bosco will be settled on the field. Calhisports has Bosco #1 also. This will be clarified on Oct 13, and likely for the final ranking when they play for the CIF SS crown.

There are thousands of high schools playing football, so this site is not about the top 1%. It is about the top 0.1% or less. We all know that the top 2 or 3 from Cali and Florida are better than the top 2 or 3 teams from Texas. But this doesn’t mean that Cali is better than Texas as a whole. It’s actually not even close, Texas is way better And I say this as a Cali homer. Most people in Cali are totally apathetic to high school football and MD/Bosco fans, including me, are living in a bubble far removed from the reality of the state of Cali high school football. I lived in Texas for 3 years and there is nothing like lt in terms of a great atmosphere and experience for Friday night football. Having said, MD and Bosco would likely put a running clock on the best Texas teams.

Which is why it is a mythical NC. I understand that that being undefeated is glamours and voters like it. Being undefeated does not always mean you are the best. Exhibit A is MC last season.

MD, Bosco and Gorman are the 3 best IMO. There is a gap between #3 and the rest, with IMG probably the best of the rest. Gorman has a better chance than Bosco and MD of going undefeated. Gorman is likely going to embarrass MC. By not playing MD, Gorman is sitting pretty should MD and Bosco cannibalize each other again. Lazy and spineless voters will give it to an undefeated Gorman or IMG should MD and Bosco split.

I agree that SFA is playing a top schedule. And no I would not rather have them beat slappies. But they do need to be competitive. In these 2 games they look unprepared and outmatched. They need to be competitive in these games to be considered a top tier team, which they are not right now.

I haven’t seen anything from either team that shows me they are a top 10 team.

If a game ever comes down to special teams, SFA is screwed.
