  1. I guess Servite must have read what we posted. (Not really, but they commented on the OC Varsity article). Servite High School Athletics 13h ยท Top Running Backs in OC Quaid Carr โ€˜25 has been named to the Top 10 list of OC running backs as selected by the Register. After a sophomore campaign that included 643 yards and 7 touchdowns, he comes in at No. 6.
  2. Well, I'd love to argue with you about this but for some reason Servite never reported any stats from their games last year. They were always slow to report during the Thomas years. Sometimes they were as much as 3 games behind in their reporting, but in 2022 they never DID report any stats. MaxPreps has nothing. The OC Varsity never showed any stats for Servite except what appeared in their game reports for the few Servite games they covered (which was almost none in Servite's all time worst season ever). Not much interest in a 1-9 team. I just hope Quaid's family kept some stats. Very important for someone who stands to be a 3-year starter for the Friars.
  3. Servite is 9-3 against those teams. 8-3 over #37 L B Poly, and 1-0 over #40 Bakersfield
  4. And Servite has only one RB on that top ten list. 6. Quaid Carr, Servite: The 6-foot, 175-pound junior showed his breakaway speed last fall and landed an offer from Utah in June. Look for him to showcase his receiving skills as well.
  5. It's Silverado of Victorville. Silverado of Las Vegas would have probably been a better test for the Friars, although, I believe both were hit hard by graduations.
  6. Yeah, and I got a kick out of pointing that out. But one of the MD honks replied that MD would end up playing way more games than Servite anyway. 2021 Servite played 13 games; Mater Dei?... 12 games. ๐Ÿ˜›
  7. I'm not sure if the opening game for Servite is Silverado of Las Vegas, or Silverado of Victorville.
  8. Interesting because Liberty of Nevada is showing someone else is their Sept 1st opponent. 2022 No. 193 Liberty Patriots (Nevada) August 18 โ€“ at No. 1 St. John Bosco (California) August 25 โ€“ vs. St. Louis (Hawaii) September 1 โ€“ vs. Campbell (Hawaii) September 8 โ€“ vs. Coronado September 15 โ€“ at No. 5 Bishop Gorman September 22 โ€“ vs. No. 288 Cathedral Catholic (San Diego, California) September 29 โ€“ vs. Desert Pines October 6 โ€“ at Silverado October 13 โ€“ at Arbor View October 20 โ€“ vs. Shadow Ridge
  9. The white smoke has already come for Servite Head Coach. I was suggesting that maybe Coach Zepeda might join Coach Reinert's staff.
  10. Yeah, I agree that he has done pretty darn good work. Certainly not a record to be fired over. I was sure there had to be more to it. I'll bet Servite could find a place for him.
  11. The St. Paul Swordsmen of Santa Fe Springs California are searching for a new head football coach after they let Swordsman alumnus Rick Zepeda go. Zepeda was hired at St. Paul in 2013 and compiled a 55-51 overall record. In addition to reaching the CIF-SS playoffs five times, the Swordsmen won three league titles during Zepedaโ€™s tenure. In 2019, they advanced to the CIF-SS Division 5 championship game, where they lost to Aquinas, 21-16. St. Paul was 4-6 this past season and missed the playoffs. But a year prior, the Swordsmen were 8-3 and shared the Angelus League title. They lost to Upland in the first round of the Division 4 playoffs that season. https://www.sgvtribune.com/2023/02/10/st-paul-fires-football-coach-rick-zepeda-explaining-that-it-is-moving-in-a-different-direction/ I wonder if Sammy Swordsman is interested. ๐Ÿค”
  12. Oh Yeah! Way to go O Lu! Bosco defeating MD is not a surprise, but you have shocked the world! ๐Ÿป
  13. I actually agree with all of that except the free tuition part. After all, aren't all public schools free?
  14. Here's hoping you all had a Happy Thanksgiving. ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿฅ‚
  15. Mater Dei for giving up 17 points to Servite. ๐Ÿ˜œ
  16. Servite for scoring 17 points on Mater Dei. ๐Ÿ˜œ
  17. At least Servite beat the spread. CalPreps predicted 62-0. ๐Ÿ˜œ
  18. Looks like Coach Garretson must have heard me at halftime. ๐Ÿ˜
  19. Looks like I had this one wrong...at least so far. Come on Rick, challenge those players to be as tough as you were. Make some halftime adjustments, and light up that scoreboard! I still think the Wolves pull this one out, but it sure isn't the blowout I predicted.
