Did you give them the option of Rockledge?

Math isn't hard.  They are in a 9 team district, so play 8 district games, leaving only two non-district games for them to to schedule.

One was SOC and the other was Rockledge.  One game of two is 50%.

I always provide any and all options to my clients. The vast majority of them always choose the best possible opponent/oppty. Not the worst. Live and learn.

I'll take that as a raised hand.  Have you shared your feedback, #nocowardsallowed/etc. with the Duncanville staff?

Of course! By scheduling Rockledge instead of Miami Central they missed out on two opptys:

1. The oppty to save $2,500 in travel stipend funding by scheduling MC rather than Rockledge, and

2. The Rockledge game would not be streamed to a national audience due to the lesser quality of game

In the end DV chose to pay out more $$ plus not have the game broadcast nationally vs. to host a more competitive MC.

Except the NFHS network did stream the game between Rockledge and DV.  Is there difference?

Yes, with Flo the host school receives 100% of the proceeds. With NFHS, the UIL gets it all and none of it trickles down to either of the teams playing.

Thanks!

So this cost Duncanville ~$2,500 in outlay (Rockledge travel expenses) and a potential income loss of ~$6,000, correct?

DV paid Rockledge a $12,500 travel stipend and received no streaming rights fees in return. Total outlay of $12,500.

If DV would have hosted MC, the Rockets would've been paid a travel stipend of 10,000 ($6,000 of which would've been underwritten by PGL in the form of streaming rights fees). Total outlay of $4,000.

So the guaranteed win vs an inferior team cost DV an extra $8,500.

DV would be unbeaten today with the bogus schedule IMG is playing!

DV would have a much tougher time with IMG’s schedule than you might think, but would be undefeated. Although SJP would be 50/50 if the game was played in Philly (of course, we all know a TX power would never travel out-of-state to take on another national power).

Not this DV team.  It seems you guys are failing to see how much better this team is this year.

I honestly believe this particular DV team is better than this IMG.  Yes. I believe this IMG has been overrated this year.  Everyone is ranking on name not how they are playing.

The IMG vs SJP - you know what happened at the end of the game.  There was bigger probability of that game going 24-0 - than the blunders that lead to two non offensive TD and the 17-14 final.
