lipscomb has had a similar rise but doing well for a shorter time.  they went from winning 3 games in 2 years to 7 wins, then the state championship game 3 years in a row, winning 2.

I'm looking at the same 10-year period. Still too early for LA in this respect.

I said they had not been successful for as long but you asked about meteoric rise.  where did you get your data?  im glad to look it up because I bet the jump was similar even though they haven't been on top as long.  and they beat thompson to top it off.   : )

I used Calpreps for this exercise.

And remember, yours truly is the one that booked LAs games last season vs Milton and Thompson 😉

I didnt know that!  awesome.

best i can tell, this is what I found.  feel free to check these as it wasn't very user friendly.

2017.  194-tn. 8601-us

2018.  115-tn. 5703-us

2019.  68-tn. 2930-us

2020. 8-tn. 319-us

2021.  3-tn.  47-us

2022. 1-tn. 13-us (seems to be missing so this is from other rankings)

so to answer your question, yes, this is similar in the meteoric rise but actually faster.  thompson was 7056 to 33 in 6 years.  lipscomb was 8601 to 13 in 6 years  we both noted they have not sustained the success as long.

Nice. Now let's see if LA can remain #1 in TN long-term like Thompson has in AL. In the end it's all about staying power.

Plus, THS is a public school. We all know how much quicker and easier it is for privates to become nationally relevant overnight. SFA is a perfect example of this. I'll be rooting for the Mustangs!

IMG houses 10 of the T100 ballers in America. Even if LA loses by 28 they'll still move up in most polls. If they get embarrassed, they're done.

it's a tough opening act for the new coach but I dont think they get smoked.

sorry, didnt mean to take over your thompson thread!
