And the league is sanctioned by NFHS, which now means every member can play any hsfb program in America. For example, Clarkson North can now start scheduling teams from OH again with ease. Without the affiliation, they couldn't.

GardenStateBaller
August 30, 2023 Launch of New High School Football League in the Northeast Nine independent high school football teams in Maryland, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ontario have formed a new high school football league. The new league, named the East Coast Power Prep league (ECP), will begin competition in September 2023, culminating in a championship game the first week of December. Kevin McLeod who spearheaded the league’s creation commented on the process to this point. “This is something we discussed with a few teams the last few years and we felt it was the best pathway forward for our programs and players. Teams will be able to compete for a championship and our players will get more recognition through all conference nominations, social media and website, and other planned items.” The league will include nine teams in the first year however there is already a waiting list for 2024. The league anticipates operating a north and south division in 2024. “There has been a lot of interest from other programs that were unable to commit this year due to already having scheduled commitments. The league will welcome other applicants,” commented McLeod. The programs participating in the inaugural season include St Francis Regional (Baltimore, MD), Life Christian Academy (Richmond, VA), Clarkson Football North (Mississauga, ON), Mt Zion Prep (Lanham, MD), Beacon Hill HomeSchool (Richmond, VA), Capital Prep NY (Harlem, NY), Wyoming Seminary (Kingston, PA), Virginia Academy (Ashburn, VA), and National Christian Academy (Fort Washington, MD). The league is a member of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).
