Besides unlike some of the weak states out there Florida teams (at least the elite ones) play to win no matter if it's preseason, regular season, playoffs or an officials clinic Teams don't want to lose and they play their ass off to win those games because they standing across the field from someone who is in a different jersey than them

KOC or regular season there are countless teams that won't play their second rate IMG white team much less the national one in ANY capacity Hell there are teams in Jacksonville who won't even play Bolles or Trinity Christian

Venice willing to play IMG and SFA in the same year but we can't even get North Central Florida teams to play Columbia And those teams wonder why they can't win state even in the new suburban classes

Plus this thread is about Florida news and any of those 3 aspects makes it a relevant Florida news item for the thread in question

It's relevant for 3 reasons 1 Hawthorne was a state runner up last year 2 the QB is a 3 star QB who is committed to a FBS school 3 the team he's going to will be ranked in the Florida Preseason Poll I release in August

Honestly the recent SFA vs IMG matchups proves to me that IMG is a tier down from them Go ahead and bump IMG down to tier 2

At preseason I'll take a monkey throwing teams at a dartboard over anything MaxPreps or calpreps produces

I will say this even with me feeling that Tampa Jesuit (and a few others) should be ranked over AHP in your poll it's still better than any other national poll I've seen at this stage and besides AHP the FL teams in the rankings are correct

Even with calpreps and MaxPreps usually ranking like 30 CA teams every preseason just like they rank like 20 FL teams and only about 50-75% are actually the right 20 teams? 😂

Isn't basically the entire Trinity league top 100 nationally? Even if they are like top 100 nationally there's at least 10-15 teams in Florida that could compete with them and be a semi level playing field

Then schedule an elite FL team Outside of maybe Mater Dei, there's at least 5 teams every year in Florida on par with the rest of California (and I'm not even including IMG Academy)

That's for the best You would have been in a situation like DFB where they would be setting themselves up for a blowout and wishing you could get them out of it and replace them with someone better

Gainesville in 2011/2012 was also an Alachua County all star team and when they made state finals against Miami Central they got completely smashed Hell they barely got by Columbia in the regular season that year (they got a controversial call in their week 2 home game that took a Columbia TD off the board and allowed Gainesville to escape the game 17-14) The talent in Gainesville could end up at one team and create a top 15-25 team in Florida but nothing is gonna put them on par with the STA or Miami Central's of the world

They were last year and couldn't even compete for a quarter with STA Buchholz had over 10 transfers from local schools like Santa Fe, Oak Hall, Eastside and Gainesville Hell their big name WR (Quan Lee) spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at Eastside with Anthony Richardson He transferred to Buchholz in his junior year after Richardson graduated

I believe Killian has lost all rated players this off-season They will drop hard this year
