PDE769
What makes a great coach? Winning with some of the best player in the nation or winning with what players in your school district/boundary?

Lot of years went by for Rollinson without Championships until MD decided to double down on recruiting.
elKakador
How do you measure greatness -- simply by wins? I think a coach who takes average talent and has winning teams every year is much better then one who recruits a local all-star team and wins with that talent. People seem to forget that John Wooden coached at UCLA for 26 years. He didn't win a national title until his 15th year there. Why? One simple reason: he started recruiting nationally (NYC, Philly and DC).

MD and select few of others are basically playing by different rules! If not DLS would still be winning state with 2-way players.
