Please keep in mind that this was a decision by the IHSAA, which is very resistant to any change. There have been some large shakeups in our state recently, like Carmel and Center Grove going independent, that will hopefully drive us to an unrestricted travel rule. This is a step forward, albeit, not what most of us wanted, but a step forward. I think most of the top tier teams in our state would love to travel and compete with the nation's best teams.

Any idea where I can do some background on all eight teams? Since no programs will be available, thought I would do some general overview of each team, i.e., players to isolate, where they are committed to, height and weight and other information about the top players that weekend.

Here at the Weekly Viewer Guide we are all inclusive. BTW, are you going to Massillon on the 18th and 19th?

Remember, these national boards cater to fans of all states, so we follow Dover, Bridgeville Woodbridge, Smyrna and all other relevant teams in the state. The last thing we need is a discrimination suit. 😀

Trying to take a look at some games from the state for my weekly viewer guide. Schedules dates appear to be different this season. Can anyone let me know when their regular season begins and ends. Thanks.

A post on the Indiana Gridiron Digest suggested that Elkhart is traveling to Massillon. Are they in this event or the Freedom Bowl?

They got all their points from 2011 through 2013, when they were ranked 37th, 13th and 51st respectively in those seasons final poll. However, Alcoa and Lipscomb Academy are closing in and have had better teams in the last several years. McCallie has one appearance in 2021 gathering 47 points, MUS started strong leading the state in the state rankings from 2008 through 2011, when Ensworth took over the top spot in their state poll. MUS has not garnered a point since 2010. MBA had only one appearance in the poll prior to this season. In 2017 they finished 8th in the final poll and had not secured another spot until finishing 85th this year. They would have gained more traction this past season if not for the loss to Baylor in their championship game.

This is a wrap for the season. DYNASTY RANKINGS FAQ What are the Dynasty Rankings? – The Dynasty Rankings are a compilation of my Top 100 polls since 2008. How are points earned? – Points are earned by finishing in the final poll each season. A school is awarded 25 points for finishing in the Top 100 of a year end poll. In addition, each school in the poll also receives points based on their finish in the poll. For instance, a school ranked at the top of the poll receives 125 points while the team that finishes ranked 100th receives 26 points. How many teams are in the poll? – There are currently 561 teams in the 2023 Dynasty Rankings. California leads with 54 teams, Texas is next at 61 teams, followed by Florida at 54 teams, Georgia with 37 teams and Ohio with 28 teams. Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Rhode Island do not have any teams in the poll. Who is the top ranked team at the conclusion of the last season? – Concord (CA) De La Salle was the top ranked team at the end of the 2023 season. De La Salle has led the poll since 2012. Ramsay (NJ) Don Bosco Prep led in years 2010-2011, with Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas leading after the initial poll in 2008, while Austin (TX) Lake Travis led in 2009. A note of caution to De La Salle, at the end of 2019 they led the poll for the top spot by 211 points. However, due to earning just 52 points in the last two years, their lead has to just 23 points over Las Vegas (NV) Bishop Gorman. What format will be utilized to reveal the poll? – The schools that comprise teams ranked from 500 -561 will be released on Monday January 9th, followed by listings in groups of approximately 100 teams each day after until the final 100 consisting of the Top 100 will be unveiled. In addition, on Sunday January 8th, I will release a “state summary” which will summarize each state and relevant information on teams from that state.
