Anyone know how to get the stream for the Mater Dei vs Kahuku game? I heard its the same way the Bosco game was streamed last year, which had all these multiple steps to get it - thru SpectrumNews1 and/or thru the app.

I would like to watch on my laptop, but I think I watched on my phone. .. But someone on here helped out - with the steps to follow.  Anyone have any info??

At home #16 MV barely beat unranked Basha 31-28.

I didn’t see the game, but I bet it was a LOS issue.  MV looks good til they meet teams with better lines.  Which is why they never have been a threat to MD or SJB, and why they won’t be this year, either.

Basha’s not chopped liver, though.  #2 in AZ according to CP, and a solid program recently.  But to your point, a T25 team shouldn’t be holding on for dear life against them at home.

Cali brothers, what's the scenario where Mission Viejo plays Mater Dei/St John Bosco? Thx!

Open playoffs.   Top 8 teams in So Cal (per Cal Preps) are placed in the Open playoff division.  As of now MV is in that group.

Smart teams tank enough to get ranked #9+ so they can compete in the D1 playoff bracket.

You are correct, except the top 8 teams were placed in the D1 playoffs. The #9 team was in D2. The ‘open’ division was at the state level.

I think d1 will be bigger than 8 teams. They'll want all the trinity teams to be D1 currently that would put 12 teams for that divisions

Last year Servite was D2. I do wish they would have a larger bracket. I always liked 16 teams, but I understand that the CIF wants to avoid teams 13-16 being sacrificial lambs. With 12 teams it sucks that some teams have byes while others do not. If you are playing well at the time, you don’t want to sit out a week.

Wasn"t it 16 last year?

And that's why the CIF won't allow IMG to schedule its teams! #toocloseforcomfort

Since SFA only lost to MD by 11, I'm hoping the CIF doesn't do the same to them 😉

lol

The reason why this rule was put in place was to discourage academies from forming in Cali. Had nothing to do with winning or losing games.
