It’s the same in Tennessee (as I’m sure you’ve discovered). When I played in the late 80s/early 90s we had three classes. Privates were mixed in with everyone. The playoffs were a war zone back in those days. If you won state back then you went through a gauntlet from the first round on.

Yeah it’s way worse here. 9 classifications for 325 teams!!! 
 

And what’s worse is smaller teams in the 3A, 4A and 5A can and have beaten the 6A teams so there is no reason to have so many public classes.

TN should have, absolutely, no more than 4 public classes. The population just doesn’t allow for 6 classes. That’s just the T$$AA watering things down for more revenue. Plain and simple.

How many schools does Tennessee have from 1-6A? Alabama needs to go back to 6 in my opinion and we have 393 football schools for this window.

TN has 351 total schools. Figure 50 are private. So, about 300 public schools.

Some are freelance independent teams and some aren’t even affiliated with the TSSAA. I would guess around 325

SFA returns 90% of its starters next season. And I'm aware of at least four high profile xfers coming in this January. They'll be a Top 5 preseason team for sure. If they need a K, should I send them your way??

Horrible. They got kicked out of the playoffs for recruiting. They won’t have anyone near as good next year. This was a one time thing. The coach is an asshole for setting this up. Hopefully they can him and the team avoids the 50 point loss with typical First Academy kids
