CIF Southern Section D1 playoffs

Brackets are out for the toughest playoffs in the country. This is what we expected based on Calpreps rankings. The best 3 teams are in the top half of the bracket. Bosco rolls into the finals. Mission v Centennial will be THE game. Can’t wait for that one.

The good ole calpreps computers. Agree it sucks that 3 of the better teams are in the upper half. But imo everyone is playing for second anyways lol

Would have really loved to see MD run up the score against Inglewood. Payback for the 100+ point game Inglewood had a few of years back. Jagoffs...

Even CP thinks that SJB is better than both Cen10 and MV. I don’t feel so bad now 😉

Excited for OLu/Bosco Round 2. 

Of course Calpreps does. That’s the way their algorithm works. CalPeps weakness is that losses don’t hurt you enough. Everybody that watches football in Cali has Mission ranked #2 in the state. Sometimes you need to trust your eyes. I said before the season, and my opinion hasn’t changed, Mission and Centennial are both better than Bosco and OLu.

And that is the trajedy. We won’t get to see! Winner of Mission/Cen10 will likely lose to MD. But that game will be MD’s biggest hurdle and de facto championship game.

Let’s be real. In the end only ONE playoff game really matters annually in the state of CA. Nobody gives two shits about the other 498 teams.

Agreed. I think the players, families, friends, students, alumni from these teams care. What makes high school football great as a sport is not Mater Dei or other nationally known teams, it is the thousands of neighborhood teams across the country.

In the end the best two teams in CA will be playing each other. That’s all that matters.

According to CP, the CIFs seeding apparatus, Owasso is a Top 40 team in America. I agree with you that Dorman is irrelevant and shouldn’t be discussed on this site.
