All Dei
This game all of a sudden got really interesting with SFA’s loss at OLu. I was thinking another 45-3 beat down for DV, but maybe not…
Nolebull813
DV wins this easy. SFA is gonna be a big perennial 6-4, 5-5 team with their schedule

The SFA staff was very complimentary of OLu, especially the WR Hennessy.

Can’t win if you can’t score. I don’t see DV scoring much on their D, though, and if SFA can generate some turnovers and short fields, I could see them getting the W. SFA O was averaging 36 ppg after first two games vs stout competition. I can't see ANY Texas team having a better D than OLu.

I think you’re being a bit generous to CC and SJR. 😉 CC’s not even close to ready for that kind of prime time, and SJR isn’t what they often are in NJ, so I personally don’t think we can judge SFA’s O particularly well based on those two games. When I look at player rankings, there’s one 3-star WR and the rest are on D, if memory serves. You are without a doubt correct on OLu > TX on D, though! 🤣 Prob not gonna get another 47-7 rout, but I think DV will have real trouble with SFA’s D. Maybe 28-14 SFA?

The biggest threat to BC. Remember, SJR was leading SFA 21-17 at half. Then SFA shut them out in the second half. D wins games.

And I’m sure DV has grown as a program from the IMG and MD games, but SFA’s secondary is even more stacked than MD’s. He’d better be careful. SFA scored 40 unanswered points on DS. SFA recently lost to Buford, C-M, ESL and OLu. Hence, can use that excuse with them either. MC beat IMG two seasons ago. Proof that NO HSFB team is invincible. How did you get Texas Derangement Syndrome? Must've been the move to TN.

There is very little drop-off or gains year to year. We're not talking about Clearwater Academy here. DV and DS have been considered "elite" for quite some time.

Fact is it takes perfect storm for most public schools to beat the top elite recruited privates. Public better have most coming back with savvy QB SFA is not MD or SJB

IMG has been up and down - when DV played IMG - it was the 2nd week in October and IMG was on game 5 and DV was game 2 - it was Covid season. That was big advantage - That game was actually good battle especially in first half. DeSoto was not in good game shape and showed in 2nd half - caused by limited games and practice time due to Covid.
