Three one-loss teams at the top??? That's degrading everything that a MNC stands for! Smh.
A national champion should be the objective best team. Not just a team with an unbeaten record. Let’s be honest, and get down to brass tax, if you had to bet your mortgage on a game between SJB and Miami Central… everyone with a brain is taking SJB

Can’t blame DM for his starting QB being out injured. He’s a difference-maker.
While I agree you want your senior Returning starter out there, he’s not exactly a difference maker. I think DM had to win next year otherwise I think the Joes folks are gonna be angry. DBP, BC and SPP all take a (small) step back next year. Joes Will return their most impactful players. He’s gotta win next year

Look I do think BC has looked pretty sharp especially on Defense but this is the worst I've seen SJR look in 20 years. Body language is awful.
I agree to an extent. Is Marangi’s seat hot?

No Walker or Heath for DBP, they showed up to play. BCs Offense ain’t good so them having to play from behind should favor Bosco

I’m gonna take BC close. Something like 28-24. I gotta think Bosco is gonna either have to make adjustments on both offense and defense in terms of philosophy or just double down on their offense and try and out score teams. Bosco/Bergen is always a ton a fun if nothing else

Do you really look at this as a huge upset? Edgewater has been pretty solid in recent years. They were in the state final a couple yrs back. And lets be real DBP is not the DBP of 10 years ago.
DBP is definitely not the the same as 10+ years ago. Bosco didn’t show up maybe some of that is Edgewater, the travel or the rain but they just looked flat

Think DBP wins pretty comfortable here, I’ll say 35-7
Well I was certainly wrong. Hats off to Edgewater.

DBP is the much better team, playing very carelessly. Rain doesn’t help their cause either but they should not be losing to this team by any margin

your memory is hanging tough.
Moved into the area 1999 after college. Very blessed to live in a area with great high school sports programs. Keeps me young

I was thinking we played ahp in 15. You’re right—it was 16.
As the years go by they all seem to meld together lol

Then it was 15. ??? Could that be?
2015 DBP went 9-3 on route to a state title. OOS wins Included Archbishop Rummel and Moeller

DeVitto said he never saw a secondary as good and fast as AHP’s 6 yrs ago. And Bosco won out that year in nj.
In 2016 DBP finished 6-5 and lost to PC Twice. But that AHP was good no doubt

Thank you. Can they compete with bosco and Bergen. I know in the past they have had some big guys esp on the OL
I definitely think they can Compete with Bosco and Bergen. Wouldn’t shock me if they beat one or both of them during the year. They are a talented team. We’ll see, this shaping up to be a fun year for NJ football

I mean we are all entitled to an opinion on this but to be honest NJ I just think that is reach, just because all 3 top teams were involved in blowouts. Things get sloppy in those kind of games
I have it like this DBP at 1, upperclassmen laden, overall the most sound. BC at 2, Elite Defense, offense a work in progress. SPP at 3, very talented curious to see how they line up against Bosco and BC

Does anyone know anything about Peter's
I have Peters as my 3rd rank NJ currently. They are very talented as usual. I wonder about their depth and coaching always seems to come into question with SPP.

defense looked worrisome, no?
DBP’s front 7 is pretty stout. The secondary is young. Overall DBP looks the best in NJ after week 0

Good warm-up game before visiting Saguaro next weekend!
Don’t know much about Saguaro but I hope they bodies up front on offense otherwise they’ll get tossed around too. DJ Samuels and Sydir Mitchell are grown men out there
-
This game could get ugly. Cardinal Gibbons doesn’t have the bodies to even match up. Start the running clock

have no clue what SJR will be this year....usually have some sort of feeling..this year..who knows.....new offense is looking very good and our Heinrich our QB is making major strides....we probably have the 3 best RBs and the best RB ( Willis ) in the state,,,so we can run it....pass it....can we stop the other team????? no clue....looking forward to Friday night
SJR will be a interesting watch this year. I’m really curious to see how they gel. They bring back some good pieces and I expect them to show well throughout the year. I would say they’re a team with a high potential ceiling but a low floor. Guess we’ll see

What is the scouting report on Bergen and DBP? Now is the time to collect the data.
In a nutshell, BC lost a lot to graduation but still return some of the states best players, all of whom are on Defense. DBP returns almost all of their team. They’re pretty loaded with their best team since 2015, arguably 2011.

The No Nonsense Top 100

So what, I’ve seen both teams play. St John Bosco would be a 14 point favorite against central. That’s not to say central isn’t good or not a top team but they are levels below SJB and MD. If this sites goal is to be considered the preeminent high school football rankings website putting central at 1 over SJB because they are unbeaten or to be different is embarrassingly bad.
